Well, my reply might be a bit tardy to the party, but my overall opinion on prom is that the whole giddyap's quite alright.

While prom didn't matter to me as much as it did to the general masses, I just wanted to experience as much I could of what adolescence had to offer.

My school threw the thing in the local college's convocation center with a "Beauty and the Beast" theme. Tickets cost $25, while the after-prom tickets were much less.

My prom tux rental, though, was near $200. My mom knew the woman owning the local boutique, so that was a plus; but Mum and the store owner insisted that I get a tux that "went with" the colors of my date's dress, so they got a beige tuxedo with a light blue tie, vest, and pocket garment. It wasn't bad I guess, but I just didn't see why it would be the end of the world if my tux conflicted with my date's colors. I gave my date a corsage while she gave me a boutonnière.

Before prom, people did ask me if I was going. Then they'd ask me if I had a date; I'd respond that I didn't have one, or that I was planning on going alone. In fact, my English teacher did the aforementioned song-and-dance, and told me, right in front of a few bachelorettes, that I could ask them if I wanted (needless to say, my face went red). Then around a month or two before the event, one of my friends messaged me, asking me to prom. I said yes, as I contemplated going with her beforehand, and I understood how much going to prom with a date meant to a lady.  We went with a mutual group of friends (one who was bringing her long distance boyfriend from NC). I hung out with quite a few social groups, but the group I was closest to, and went to prom with, you could say, would be the "outcasts/emos".

The event was pretty fun; there was great food strewn along tables next to the walls, there was a huge dance floor with all the lights and loud music you'd enjoy more on ecstasy (drugs are bad, mmkay). The DJ did have swell tastes in music; I just died when they played "Death of a Bachelor"! While most of the others were *ahem* inappropriately dancing to the music, a friend and I tore it up on the dance floor. People loved my dancing; some even had me teach them my "moves" (little did they know, 'twas all improv)! They did play a couple of slow-dance numbers; one of which I awkwardly danced with my date to.

If you were feeling a bit sluggish, you could always duck out into the courtyard for some fresh air; that did save me from passing out and/or throwing up.

The night left me too exhausted for after-prom (free movies, inflatables and whatnot) and the post-prom-act-of-love, which I was too single and responsible for anyway.
(Y'see, I thought bathroom drug use and the hanky-panky after prom were uncommon around my small town, but "Never Have I Ever" and gossip have taught me otherwise. I'm a boring kid, apparently!)

TL;DR: Albeit overrated, prom can be fun, depending on your school & personal tastes. Much dancing, many social traditions & customs. You'd probably enjoy it if you're more socially "into it", but do know when to stay home or do something else.

Not considering money or logistics, a vacation I'd love to take would be a trip to the Big Apple (New York City).

I'd take a best friend or significant other, or embrace my lone-wolf-nature and go alone. I'd do things such as walk around Times Square, photograph everything, and sample loads of food.

But the main reason I picked NYC is one thing: Broadway. I'm a thespian, so theatre's in my veins, and I'd love to see some cream-of-the-crop performances; I'd watch at least 3 shows with VIP tickets, and hopefully meet some of the actors.

While in NY, I'll vlog the trip for YouTube.

Welp, other than my username, there's this ONE thing I'll always regret doing on Vizzed. About 9-or-so years ago, I was quite the immature little middle-schooler, playing on my laptop a bit more than I should have. I found this YouTube poop involving Caillou in a car crash (It's long since been removed now), and I was OBSESSED with it. One night, I thought I'd share it on Vizzed chat with a few people; in retrospect, I was quite annoying about it, trying to press it onto about 3 people; one of which turned out to be a moderator (I think her name was RequiemHaunt or something like that), who was babysitting. The mod said, "I'm upset with Kackarot," and I guess I felt kinda bad, so I said, "That's all for tonight, folks!" and just left the room.
The next day, I got online to find out that my IP was slapped with a weeklong ban from Vizzed. I hid the reason from my brother, who also uses the site, and shouted that we were banned from Vizzed while I was in the shower.
At least I can look back on it and laugh now! XD

Last game I played was Advanced Warfare for the 360. I was on the campaign,
Spoiler:
and I just finished infiltrating Irons' estate.

Technically, I'm listening to nothing, but music plays in my brain 24/7. XD
Right now, I'm mentally listening to Everybody's Circulation by TMABird. It's quite a beautiful remix with a lot of meme songs!

Fair warning: it's explicit.

Okay, I'm planning a YouTube channel, where I'll game & do other crazy stuff, but I have one dilemma:
I'm wondering whether or not to swear like all the other YouTubers.

From what I've gathered, swearing's pretty much the norm on the Internet, and there's a huge crowd of people who love it when their favorite YouTuber uses choice words that shouldn't be used in front of Grandma,

but as an overachieving, honor rolling, respectful & polite teen, I worry that I might face repercussions with my small town community, my high school, potential colleges, employers, and potential acting jobs,

but I want popularity and ad revenue because it's good, and I can still be myself while swearing, right?

What do you guys think?

My native language is English,
and I've just taken three semester classes of French.

I'm interested in learning more languages, but I never get around to using Duolingo. XD

I've had this baby for 6 years now; it's an Acer Aspire laptop I got for Christmas.

CPU - Intel® Pentium® P6100 dual-core @ 2.0GHz
GPU - Intel® HD Graphics
RAM - 6GB
HDD- 250GB
Resolution - 1600 X 900
OS - Windows 10 Home

It's alright for gaming- I can run a good number of programs on mid to low settings, but I can't play games like Skyrim or CS:GO smoothly.

I primarily use IObit Malware Fighter, because it's simple, non-invasive, and easy to scan and update its database. I've used other antivirus programs before, but they just haven't been up to snuff.

Avast Free was alright, until I upgraded to Windows 10. It somehow caused problems with the OS, making most of the UI practically unusable. When I found out that this was causing the problem, I uninstalled it, and sure enough, the OS was working all fine and dandy afterwards.
What also drives me away from this is that although it's non-interfering, it's super-annoying when it does find a virus. My brother's perpetually virus-ridden laptop would drive us nuts, going "
BING BING BING THREAT HAS BEEN DETECTED" at full volume, every 10 minutes.

For us, McAfee was the worst. It would drive us nuts with its scheduled scans, and its web security as paranoid as Joe McCarthy would alert me on many sites I knew were safe.
It also locked my brother out of his old phone, wiped it, and wouldn't even let him connect to WiFi to help recover the account. Our mom had to dig deep into the forums to find the default reset code.

I've been using this low-end laptop for about 6 years now, and it's still running stable! I'm dealing with a Pentium P6100 dual-core with 2GHz, Intel® HD Graphics, and 6GB (Upgraded from 3) of RAM.
The thing got spilled on a few years ago & stopped working for a year before it got cleaned & fixed.

I think the oldest game I recall playing was either Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) or Castlevania (N64). My childhood memories are a bit chronologically jumbled up for me, so I would never really know.

Yesterday, I just beat Portal, which is a phenomenal game! I bought & downloaded it the day before.

It was very fun to figure out things without walkthroughs and go through the plot, realizing deep, disturbing things, such as that
Spoiler:
the cake is a lie.
It was also quite a ride to
Spoiler:
"escape" the grasp of the sassy, yet evil GLaDOS
and listen to the song in the credits!

I already have Portal 2 in my library, I just have to download it. From what I understand, the sequel's awesome!

In Southwest Virginia, the weather's been downright crazy and can't seem to make up its mind.

The weather's been absolutely freezing earlier this December, even so as to bring up a flurry or two, but this late December, I've seen yet another disappointingly brown Christmas, with Spring highs of between the 40's and 60's,
but the
exciting news is that frigid fronts are coming our way, just in time to snow us in for January & February and cancel school to where we get out late June again! Isn't that wonderful?!

This is part of why I'm probably moving to another state after college. Anyone know how North Carolina is?

To be honest, I haven't really been thinking about my New Year's resolutions until now. Thank you!
I guess some major ones would be:

-To stop procrastinating on work; this is a big one for me.
I
know that it's bad, and I know the methods against it, but my brain always cleverly comes up with some excuse to keep putting it off. But come 2017, it's going to stop. Because of ADD, it's going to be hard, but I think I'll achieve it!

-To start exercising regularly.
For me, it's less about losing weight, and more about the other benefits, such as more focus, more energy, and better mood and sleep. This talk of wellness leads me to another resolution...

-To meditate more.
Meditation has a
great number of benefits for the mind and body. I've been doing it somewhat regularly, but I've been intending to do longer sessions every night, potentially making it even more effective.

-To do some more of my own work & studies.
I'm a pretty busy kid- I make my grades, I'm in the competitive performing arts, and other projects, but most of my free time consists of playing video games, doing chores around the house, and watching YouTube videos.
I've really been thinking of doing some of my own things, such as writing & maybe working on a novel or two, learning more languages via Duolingo, learning programming to prepare for computer science studies, and working more on my YouTube gaming channel.
Something I've been thinking, though, is-
Are the lazy things I'm doing really worth it? Are the video games really getting me anywhere, or can I do more worthwhile things for me and other people. I've been wanting more to make my life more full and meaningful to the world, as I've been realizing that you have to work for some forms of true happiness, so doing more work of my own is something I've put on this list.

-And like jlove92: I also need to be more social.
Naturally, I'm introverted, and need more alone time than social contact. In certain social situations, I get a bit awkward, and do better just hanging out with a few friends.
My resolution is to get more out of my comfort zone and get more comfortable in my own skin. I want to make a few more friends and interact more with the ones I do have. If I'm going to be a famous actor/YouTuber someday, I'm gonna need to be a bit less introverted!

I wish the rest of you the best luck on your all's resolutions!

I guess the best thing that's happened to me this month is how well I ended the school semester;
My One Act team and I won the state championship for the 2nd year in a row,
my semester grades are all A's and a hard-earned B in Pre-Calculus,
and I got a
ton of spending money over the month, and am putting a good chunk of it towards setting up for gaming on YouTube.

I'm generally an introvert, but it really depends on the situation.
A good chunk of the time, I'm a bit socially inept; I'm mostly worried about eye contact, and how much, when, and to who I should give it. Also, I have a lot of team mates in different extracurriculars that I know well, but I only have a few close friends that I prefer to keep up with.

Put me in a larger group of people, either I can't think of much to talk about and/or I can't get a word in edge-wise for me being too polite to potentially interrupt a conversation.

But put me in a much smaller group, say two to five, give me some time to get comfy, and I'll really hit it off.

However, if I get
too much social interaction, I tend to get awkward and go into "hermit mode", where I'll feel like doing nothing but taking a nap and speaking to
no one at all.

I'll be seventeen years old in a few months, and I got my learner's permit earlier this school season.
I got the learner's after two attempts (It sucks that you have to get every question right on the signs test, but only 80% on the general knowledge portion...)

I haven't gotten my license yet, because we never have enough time to practice and get my hours in-
in Virginia, you have to log 45 hours (15 of which after dark), and with all of my drama rehearsals, have only had enough time to occasionally practice a mile on the back-road to my house after practice.

I kinda feel left out, since the majority of my classmates have their licenses already,
but it's not such a big deal, since we can't afford a car for me, and I won't really have to drive at college.

Hopefully though, this Summer, I'll be able to practice and get my license at seventeen years of age, so I'll be able to say I have one!

I'm a "good boy", so hopefully, I won't have any accidents!

Some people hate Trump, and some people hate Hillary, but everyone hates the Water Temple
(which I've come to nickname the "Ragequit Temple").
