At the moment I started re-reading The Legend of Randidly Ghosthound. Which to be honest is one of the best Royal road series out there when it comes to real world merges with rpg world tropes. And I think at this point the author is getting his second book published of the series, which is amazing for him! The only let down is that there are still some grammatical errors even in the published versions.

It's a pretty crazy rpg, where the main character obviously will get very op soon, but also will continue to face huge challenges when it comes to the new world he and his friends now inhabit. Especially with how the world government is trying to destroy most of the worlds.

Tonight I am going to finish a big bag of magazines that I normally take out after I finish every single binge watch for Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? why? three words: National Geographic World, their partnership went beyond research (but I kind of doubt they used NGW exclusively because it's a children's magazine) and they actually had Carmen comic strips for six years until they opted to focus on travel bureau exclusively but even that didn't last very long after that.

At the behest of my brother, I've been listening to the audiobook version of Hyperion recently on Audible. I don't usually listen to or read books anymore (outside of course literature) so it took me a while to get into it. But I'm starting to get really invested.

The basic setup is that characters with widely different backgrounds are telling stories. The stories are about their reasons for travelling to this mysterious land where they've all been sent on a mission. The universe is a mix of futuristic technology and old fantasy legends and mysteries.

I just finished the first part about a priest and his encounter with a difficult to understand people called the Bikura. Great worldbuilding, and the narrator adds a lot to the experience. Most of all it's interesting because of the unpredictability of the plot. I was left contemplating a lot of things once the ending was revealed.

I recently picked up this book on investing that I have been reading a few pages of every day. I've already been investing on and off for nearly 10 years so I don't need things like tips and advice but since I got back into investing again recently, I was interested in looking into the mindsets of people that invest instead of the actual investing and I found a cool book that's kind of like the psychological part of investing.

So last year I managed to find a copy of People Magazine's 20th Anniversary issue (even though I'm actually looking for the 25th and 30th anniversary issue) second hand, I had been reading it again, since I'm in TdV mode I need something to help turn my brain off half an hour before I go to bed, sometimes hearing radio classics is enough to put me to sleep

I've been cracking my way through Kant's Groundwork for the Metaphysics of Morals to start off a journey into ethical philosophy. I'm about halfway through and have to keep googling things, but these topics are very complex and hard to just break into.

Right now I am reading the Ultimate Biography book that came out back in 2002 because I needed something to turn off my brain for half an hour because I need my sleep I don't know if I'm coming down with something (I hope I'm not because getting sick sucks because you have to suffer through it and it makes time go slowly)

I actually made it through a bit of Debt: The First 5000 Years when I was waking up today. Was really groggy and couldn't put up with the internet or screens for a little while and was able to make my way through a solid 50 pages further.

Right now I've picked up Bad Kitty Camp Daze, the series is kind of funny and I was briefly obsessed with it (until I discovered Raina Telgemeier's graphic novels), it has it's funny moments especially in Bad Kitty Gets a Bath, I haven't read the most recent entry yet but I might though I work at a Middle school where the kids are too old for Bad Kitty

I've recently been rereading the city of ember, which was one of my favorite books as a teen.

I don't really read any of those long adult books so many people love, since I like to relive my youth in the rare times when I actually do read.

My girlfriend and I have been reading Pride and Prejudice for a while now. We are almost finished with it, but it's taking a while because we don't read on a consistent basis. I've already read it before, but she has not.

Just finished part 1 of Thus Spoke Zarathustra by Frederich Nietzsche. The creation of something greater comes from sacrifices we make in comforts towards the pursuit of knowledge and strength.

"Another selfishness is there, an all-too-poor and hungry kind, which would always steal- the selfishness of the sick, the sickly selfishness.

With the eye of the thief it looketh upon all that is lustrous; with the craving of hunger it measureth him who hath abundance; and ever does it prowl round the tables of bestowers.

Sickness speaketh in such craving, and invisible degeneration; of a sickly body, speaketh the larcenous craving of this selfishness.

Tell me, my brother, what do we think bad, and worst of all? Is it not degeneration?- And we always suspect degeneration when the bestowing soul is lacking.

Upward goes our course from genera on to super-genera. But a horror to us is the degenerating sense, which saith: "All for myself."

Upward soareth our sense: thus is it a simile of our body, a simile of an elevation. Such similes of elevations are the names of the virtues."

I see these reflections as a view that in order to find peace, we generally practice virtue to keep ourselves restrained, which goes against the grain of self improvement and independence.

"The man of knowledge must be able not only to love his enemies, but also to hate his friends."

This reminds us that while we are careful with our relationships, it is always important to be critical of all things around us, as you can never be sure of what may be forgiven or unnoticed.

I previously had no idea but the name Zarathustra is actually a prophet in Iran named Zoroaster, who birthed the religion of Zoroastrianism. In this novel, Nietzsche uses a personification of Zarathustra as a way of expressing his opinions on morality.

I started reading The Hobbit a few days ago. I already have a backlog of books to read, but for whatever reason, I had an inexplicable urge to read The Hobbit. The only contributing factors I can think of are the fact that Lego is reviving the Lord of the Rings theme (last year I got back into collecting Lego after a 9-year hiatus), and that a lot of the books I've been reading are either fiction, sci-fi, or horror and perhaps, subconsciously, I just wanted to dive into a good fantasy novel I haven't read in about 10 years. I'm glad I decided to read it on an impulse, it's been very enjoyable thus far.

Getting through the first few pages of Aristotle's The Politics, would definitely want to go for his other works after this one.

Currently, I'm reading WARRIORS The Sun Trail. Good book so far, hard to get used to the character change. The books I'm reading for the series is about how the clans began, which was written way after the first books of WARRIORS, so I don't know any of the characters. I don't really have a favorite character, but I already have a least favorite character, which is Clear Sky. He is really annoying.

Currently, I am reading The Lord of Opium with my girlfriend. It may seem weird for reading to be a group activity, but it's actually kind of fun. We take turns reading each chapter.

It started with me reading Pride and Prejudice to her, because she was afraid that she wouldn't be able to understand the language without my help. When we finished that, we started The House of the Scorpion, which is my favorite book of all-time. This is where we started taking turns, because the language is much easier to read and understand. Now we are on The Lord of Opium, which is the sequel to The House of the Scorpion. It is not as good as The House of the Scorpion, but it is still decent.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
