Superman is only invincible (and that is still up for debate as any kryptonian that is naturally stronger can beat him) when he is on a planet in a yellow star system.
Kryptonite is not the only thing to consider.
Superman can also be hurt by alloys from his home planet, weapons, etc etc.
Technically Goku is the Superman of the DBZ universe (re: "faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound"), except Goku can access a deeper wellspring of power.

a. superman cant bleed, unless affected by kryptonite. goku always has fat lips and is all cut up
b. superman has infinite strength, and doesnt get tired, unlike goku, who is always huffing and wheezing
c. superman could simply rip goku in half, while superman is indestructible.

honestly, goku wouldnt stand a chance unless he went SS 99999999999999999, or if he had some way to gain an upper hand on superman (kryptonite, certain weapons, etc)

Going back a few years I remember Superman died when he faced Doomsday but Im pretty sure it was the Earths sun that brought him back to life... feel free to correct me on that, im not too sure thats exactly how it went down.

yeah, Piccolo killed him during the fight with Radditz. And Cell kills him later because Goku teleports them off of Earth in order to prevent Cell from blowing it up.

So yeah, Goku can die and does at least twice that I can remember.

I do think that Goku would win, but comparing the setting it does seem a hard thing to compare.

I suppose if it came down to a match, we'd have to see what the rules are... and if Goku has a full stomach before he beings fighting XD

Both have unique weaknesses and strengths, but I do think that Goku's potential to kick ass is quite a lot higher. If only he wasn't such a nice guy all the time...

the only thing is, goku has limits. ive seen him hit them many times, and, if not for the purpose to keep people interested in it, superman has none. the only one's he does have are ones that the storytellers had to put in so it wasnt just 'superman flies in, rips someone in half, and flies away'. that wouldnt be very appealing for very long. as far as i know, the only times he's ever been beaten was when kryptonite was involved, that or someone had some type of leverage over him, which goku would never resort to doing.

Well I say goku in the end for a couiple of reasons. One is that Goku has the ability to destroy planets and teleport to world instantly sure superman can almost destryo a world but I never seen him teleport from one world to another. Two is that goku has died and came back many times and gotten stronger each time superman died once but his power level stayed the same from what I seen it at so far. An yes goku looked like he gets beat alot but so does superman to so they tie there. Also considering superman doesn't really know any martial arts skills in any type like goku that could play into affect. Basicly what im saying is that sure the boy scout is cool and all but, Goku could have a upperhand in some aspects.

Let's not forget that Goku intentionally let's himself get beaten up in order to measure his enemy's strength, and then he packs out the punches.
As for the above mentioned limits, the whole thing with Goku is that he overcomes them, time after time he surpasses everyone's expectations and comes out stronger and stronger. Just because you have not seen limits with superman doesn't mean he doesn't have any. Perhaps he has not yet exhausted his own potential, but it could very well be below Goku's.

Also, while both Goku and Superman do have fights to save the world, Goku additionally fights because he sincerely enjoys it. And should he get beaten by Superman, that'd only give him the right incentive to get stronger in order to defeat him (I haven't seen Superman train a lot, so yeah...)


And, just because someone has only one specific weakness does not mean that person can't be done in any other way. Goku may not have Kryptonite, but I don't see how he needs it. It is almost too bad that we'd never get to see such a showdown...

It be great if that would be a a tv show it be called DC meets Dragoonball Z or something of that nature.

That'd be awesome indeed, but I think there's too many licensing issues and whatnot to make it happen. And perhaps they'd have some issues with the scriptwriting, seeing as in the end, their worlds are too different. DC for one doesn't have an afterlife, or at least I don't recall that (except Thor with Walhalla I guess.)

And most DBZ villains would probably wipe the floor with both DC villains and heroes. Additionally, said villains have entirely different evil motivations, as compared to the DC ones.

A merge wouldn't be impossible, but among the above mentioned, it also might be a problem to do either world justice, and not just in the eyes of the fans.
Not that it wouldn't be awesome. And I'm sure there's a bunch of fan-made stuff that relates to this and works quite well.
I suppose once you can agree on a set of laws for the crossover world, it just might work, but getting there might be the biggest hindrance. XD

what would be awesome would be a DC vs. DBZ vs MK lmao. that would be the ultimate fighting game

My version of the poll announced how strong they're power level is.
Kakarot being around the Cell sage while Kal-El being around the Justice League series.

If Kakarot's able to reach his full power I think he'll obliterate Kal-El.

I'd choose Goku, only because he knows extra skills.
Howewer, you can't really compare them, as they are both from completely different shows, which have storylines that involve completely different things.

I live to see a spirit bomb come down on superman on another planet, then as hes trying to hold it away from himself Goku flies in and beats the hell outta him and then teleports back home. Why wouldnt that work?

After I read the whole thing, I've changed my mind.

Superman would win against Goku if he didn't use kryptonite(Ignore repling on me saying: kryptonite isn't a weapon, in fact , I didn't watch Superman series at all), but still Goku has far greater techniques and has instant transmission which let him dodges better.

But if it was a match with rules says: who gets the most hits losses, Goku would surely win.

yes, goku is a better fighter, and yes, he can do his little magic bombs and whatnot.. its just the fact that Goku CAN (and has) die, whereas Superman can NOT (unless kryptonite is involved) die. i dont understand how these people dont see this... maybe they are just too obsessed with DBZ.. i never watched superman either, and i loved DBZ. im just being realistic. Goku would lose if it were a fight to the death, plain and simple

I think it would be an interesting fight to say the least, with each of them being pushed to their limits. We really can't be sure how effective their powers would be against each other, but I think in the end Goku would destroy Superman with a Spirit Bomb
