Well many would think majikarp is just weak you have to remember that it evolves into gyrados and learns flail and tackle as well, yet due to it learning splash it kind of makes it a bad Pokémon to have on your team. The best way to make it evolve faster is to just let it hold experience share.

Overall I'd guess you could consider Majikarp somewhat a troll and a boss, yet not to boss though.

Well, Magikarp I think is a troll because Magikarp only knows splash. And there is almost no way to gain EXP so I think its a troll.

Magikarp is not a boss. It is one of the weakest Pokémon out there, along with Feebas and Unown. Splash, and tackle too...never will work out if you plan on actually progressing in the game. 

However, Gyrados is a boss, and so is Milotic from Feebas. But again, Gyrados comes after Magikarp. That doesn't make Magikarp more of a boss than any other Pokémon.

I believe that magikarp is a troll.But what some of you may not know,from the Sinnoh games and onwards,Magikarp is able to learn, get this, HYDROPUMP! So Magikarp can actually be a troll and boss.(His possible moves are Tackle, which is 35 power and 95 accuracy in Gen 1 -4 and 50 power and 95 accuracy in Gen 5-6, Flail, which does  more damage the lower the total amount of HP you have, Hydro pump, 140 power and I think 85 or 95 accuracy, and splash which literally, when you use it in battle It says: Magikarp used splash.But Nothing Happened! And that is why I think that magikarp can be either boss or troll!

My thoughts exactly! lol I hacked a magikarp and taught it some ridiculous moves. I even taught a Dugtrio to use fly. I have a whole team of trolls.

I think it is both because going off of what dumpy said I think it can be both a good and bad pokemon if it can actually learn a move like hydro pump which is extremely powerful. But personally I would go with a newly evolved gyarados any day rather than a level 100 magikarp, it is just useless in my opinion. It is about as weak as a kricketot, sunkern, smeargle, and feebas,and basically any other bad, useless pokemon you can think of.

Overall though, even if it can learn a  powerful move, it still pretty much sucks in my opinion. But that is just me. So I wouldn't consider it a troll, just a horrible pokemon.

Magikarp can learn another move besides tackle, flail and splash. That move is bounce, the only way a gyarados can have flying STAB (except for HP). It isn't that useless, and its evolution is pretty 'decent'.

There is no legit way a magikarp can have hydro pump, except by event. It's useless as a fish, but beast as a flying fish.

Magikarp is more of a Troll than anything lol There is a trainer below pallet town. He has six pokemon and guess what they all are? Magikarp. It is so annoying when you have to fight them. They hardly give any exp.

It's kind of bad and a troll because all it really does is splash, but it does evolve into a pretty cool Pokemon. It's one of my favorite Pokemon because of the episode where some three-year-old jumps into a puddle and starts splashing around, screaming "Magicarp, magicarp, magicarp!"

I actually saw the Magikarp sweep not long ago and sometimes I still watch it just for fun. I think Magikarp is a great Pokemon but on the flip side if you use it in an online battle chances are you are just trying to troll. So my final thought is that it just depends on what you are using it and how you are using it. By the way if you have not checked out the Magikarp sweep on YouTube you probably should because it is EPIC!
