Alright time for me to make my predictions.

Broncos over Ravens (35-24)
49ers over Packers (28-24)
Seahawks over Falcons (21-17)
Patriots over Texans (38-27)

So for the NFC/AFC Championship game it will be...

Patriots vs Broncos
Seahawks vs 49ers

Both will be great games.

Honestly I want to say on one hand I think Seattle can make the NFC championship game, but after watching the Redskins game last weekend I have my doubts. I really feel like if RG3 was healthy in that game, there is no way the Seahawks win. It was apparent (to me anyways) that before he tweaked his leg, they had the upper hand. After that he was severely limited (Not sure why they kept him out there) and couldn't run which really limited their game plan.

I do realize that anything can happen from game to game in the playoffs and some teams match up better against each other. It's just really hard for me to predict them in the championship game. The Falcons have disappointed in the Playoffs the past several years but to expect a west coast team to go on the road to the east and win back to back games. It's a pretty tall order. Will be interesting to watch, that's for sure. One way or the other though, I will be pulling for them.

As for the AFC, I just really can't predict anything other than a Brady vs Manning Championship. I just don't feel like the Ravens or the Texans have what it takes to win on the road. ESPECIALLY the Ravens. Who knows though, it seems like the Ravens got a big boost on Defense having Ray Lewis back. The whole defense just looked faster.

Jordanv78 : I agree with you about the Skins... in fact, I picked them to win because I assumed RG3 would have been recovered enough... didn't expect him to go down. He looked very sharp in the first half and that's kinda of the tone I anticipated for that whole game.

Also, it seems nobody is giving the Ravens a chance over Denver. While I'm normally inclined to agree... I think I'm gonna call Baltimore just because no one else is :p

Aside from that, I'm taking SF over GB and SEA over ATL. I find the Falcons to be overrated so even Seattle on the road can probably take them.

Crazy Li : I hear ya about the Broncos Ravens game. Honestly I didn't expect this game to be as close as it has been. The Broncos have been controlling the ball all game on offense but Champ keeps getting burned every other play. If Flacco could hit him more consistently the score would be a little different.

The return game for the Broncos has been bailing out Champ thus far.

legacyme3 : Really? The Seahawks making it to the Superbowl? They're just not a good enough road team to manage to beat every single team in the playoffs on the road. I don't see it. Maybe you know something I don't following the sport more closely... but the Seahawks don't look like THAT good of a team when they don't have their noisy home stadium to help them out.

I'm pretty sure the Packers would be able to handle them. I'm also torn on the potential Broncos/Pats matchup... Tom Brady tends to beat Peyton Manning when they match up in the playoffs, right? Though this isn't Indy anymore... it's Denver and a Denver team that doesn't lost at home in the playoffs very often.

Crazy Li :

Truthfully, I dont have a ton of faith in Seattle, but I make a habit of one bold prediction around mid season. This year, that the Seahawks were a super bowl team.

They also have a manageable road ahead og them in the Falcons, and 49ers/packers. They match up against both the Packers and Falcons well... and if I'm them, I want the 49ers out.

I just want to say the Payton did a great job with the Broncos this season and I wish my Colts hadn't let him go!! I am hoping that Green Bay wins tonight, however, its not looking so good for them.

Wow... Ravens and Broncos was a really good game and no surprise it went to not one, but TWO overtimes... really, both teams deserved to win in my book, but that's impossible. Like I said before, I only called Baltimore because no one thought they could win. I believed Baltimore would win but at the same time, I believed Denver would win. I know that makes no sense, but the game played out about right, I'd say.

Pakers/Niners was another great game, of course. It started on a really good note for Green Bay when Kaepernick was picked off and they got an early TD. However, the SF offense just out-played Green Bay's. They put up a lot more total yards and managed to even the score by robbing Rogers on an over-thrown pass. It's no secret that GB has trouble against a good running game and SF is a good running team... but what gave them the most trouble in this matchup was clearly Kaepernick himself. He had no trouble picking up a first down with his legs any time there was man coverage. It seemed Green Bay had no answer for him other than to switch to zone but that led to him finding a receiver to hit. He did have trouble overthrowing Moss a couple of times and made some inaccurate throws to Davis. I was glad to see him actually hit Davis in the second half though. Vernon Davis is a really good receiver that kinda went invisible once Kaepernick took over as starting QB. Alex Smith understood that if you just launch one, there's a good chance Davis could get to it. He's really fast and it's hard to overthrow him. Every time I saw Moss overthrown, I kept thinking "if only you tried that to Davis instead".

Either way, a win's a win, and the 49ers have another shot at the NFC Championship after the misfortune that was last year's attempt.

If I was forced to pick a Super Bowl winner at the beginning of the year, I would have picked Denver actually. With them out of the picture, I have to turn my attention to the team I feel really should have won it last year. SF has the talent and if utilized right this post-season, they may yet win the big one. Ahead of them, they have Seahawks/Falcons and the AFC Champion. I don't worry about the Seahawks when playing in SF. The Falcons are a mystery though. Over the AFC, it would be interesting to see the Ravens go for a Harbaugh matchup... (I actually predicted that last year and neither team ended up winning their Championship game) but in a hypothetical Patriots/Ravens game, I still think New England is going to come out on top... which would actually make things better for SF, because they didn't seem to have trouble with NE. If I were the Niners, I'd actually worry more about facing the Ravens than the Patriots.

Always a good day when the Packers lose (obvious Chicago Bears fan). Kappy looks like a dangerous QB to face in the future. Looks similar to RG3. Again the Packers defense is terrible, I think its time to fire the Defensive Cordinator and find someone to fill the role (the Bengals Defensive Cordinator would be a good hire).

Funny story about the Broncos-Ravens game. I was at work for most of the game, but I periodically went to the Electronics section to check up on the game. Well just as Flacco threw that Hail Mary that led to the game-tying touchdown to force overtime, the TV's shut off. I ripped so much hair out of my head when that happened and later learned what I missed.

Overall I'm slightly disappointed with the Broncos defense. Champ Bailey should have been taken off of Tory Smith earlier then it did. Also while the final result was close, in reality the Broncos offense struggled. Without that Kickoff return and Punt return touchdown, most likely the score would have been different.

Now I hope the Patriots win so we end up getting Ravens-Patriots final (this has been a classic playoff rivalry). Although I think the Ravens best shot at getting to the Superbowl is for the Texans to win. Also hoping the Seahawks win so we get Seahawks-49ers division rivalry final.

Crazy Li : I'll agree with you partially with your Seahawks statement. Yes they don't win many games on the road and are better at home. However I will argue that this Seahawks team is different from previous Seahawks teams where I would have completely argee with you. I think the Seahawks-Falcons game will be close, but its going to be a toss-up game (at least I hope so).

I usually don't have the time to watch an entire NFL game, but i decided to watch the Seahawks and the Falcons duke it out i was rooting for Seattle to win so badly, mainly because I've always been a fan and I think that they were screwed out of a Super Bowl win in '05. I nearly lost all hope in the Seahawks after the first half shut out, but they made a miraculous comeback that just fell short. 30-28 the final score. Congrats to Atlanta for not choking.

Since Seattle is out of it, my prediction is that the Patriots will probably win the Super Bowl.

I'm afraid to say this but after watching Atlanta preform against Seattle I don't see how they can beat the 49ers. Giving up the lead for when your up 20-0 at halftime is not smart football.

As for the AFC side. Ravens and Patriots is going to be a must-see. Not as good as Broncos-Patriots as what I hoped for, but its still a solid game.

Well it's about time i posted in this thread lol. The only thing that happened this weekend that I predicted correctly is the New England Patriots destroying the Houston Texans.

Denver Broncos choked int the fourth quarter and the Ravens onslaught eventually proved to be too much for their defense. And my favorite to win the Super Bowl is now eliminated.

The Seattle Seahawks had a monster rally in the quarter after going down 27-7 in the fourth quarter. I definitely lol'd my pants off when the kickoff by Atlanta epically failed. The Seahawks rally gave me hope that one of my predictions would at least come true, especially when the Atlanta kicker (I can't remember his name at the moment) missed the field goal...but some guy wanted to call a timeout...basically costing the Seattle the game (he's probably the most hated man is Seattle now lol).

And finally....the Green Bay Packers. They did good but after that Colin Kapernick rushing touchdown that nobody but him and the big man upstairs expected, the game went all 49ers, and the ended up getting a big win. Not only did the Packers lose (the team I thought would get the upset and end up going to the Super Bowl against Denver), but chances are Alex Smith is done for.

So now that that's done...lets look ahead at the games next week.

San Fransisco 49ers @ Atlanta Falcons Sunday 2:30 P.M. (I think. Someone please verify the time for me.)

This is going to be a very important game for both Kapernick and Ryan. Ryan is coming off his first playoff win in his career and Kapernick is trying to cap off on his success by leading the 49ers to a win unlike last year when they were upset by the New York Giants. I think that Atlanta will have a good passing game because of San /fransisco's amazing run defense, and the focus of San Fransisco's zone and man defense will definitely be on Julio Jones. In fact, i wouldn't be surprised if you see double coverage ion him at parts of the matchup. as for San Fransisco, they'll have a passing game as well, but they'll probably rush the ball more than the Atlanta Falcons. This will really be a good game to watch.

Baltimore Ravens @ New England Patriots 6 P.M. (Same situation. i'm not sure if that's the exact time.

A rematch of last years AFC Title match and possibly Ray Lewis' last game. This game will be alot closer now that Gronokowski is out for the Patriots. I won't be surprised if the Patriots rush a bit in this game being as Lewis isn't a force to be reckoned with lightly. This i think will be more of a rushing game compared to the San Fransisco/Atlanta game. I think Ray Rice will have quite a few touches and I won't be surprised if he has multiple TD runs. This is another good game to watch and it'll be exciting to see who wins.

I Say good luck to all teams, but I predict that it'll be the New England Patriots facing off against Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons in the Super Bowl. But as we all know, only time can tell.

I don't get a lot of the things that Happened in that Seattle game.

There were a few things I saw that spelled Disaster for the Seahawks. Seattle HORRIBLY mis-managed the end of the first half. They had plenty of time to put points on the board and did nothing. Horrible. Although they were able to fight back they allowed the Falcons to drive right down the field again. In 30 seconds. Defense has to step up, and coach has to not call a time out. I DO NOT understand how they blew that game in that short amount of time.

Atlanta looked shaky again but now that they have the monkey off their backs, who knows what they can do at home in the NFC championship game. Honestly I think they will have trouble with the 9ers defense, but who knows.

The Packers suck on defense and have for a few years. The 9ers had a good gameplan but Kaepernick made the Packers pay anytime they were back in coverage. If he saw nothing was there he was scrambling for huge chunks of yards and no one could catch him. Not only that but the Packers pass rush was totally stoned by the 9ers line. Give them credit.

The Broncos defense just got obliterated. I can't believe that they gave up 31 points AT HOME to the Ravens. Although Mannings INT at the end put the nail in the coffin, it was the defense that Broncos fans should be pissed at. Champ in particular...I will say that the 70 yard bomb at the end of regulation with 8 men dropped into coverage was one of the worst defensive lapses I have EVER seen in the playoffs. How was he that wide open?? This is only compounded by the fact that the Broncos had the 2nd ranked defense in the league this season. Totally unacceptable.

I will say that I am bummed that there will be no Manning Brady rematch in the AFC title game, but hey the Ravens outplayed them so give them credit.

The Pats did what I pretty much expected although Vereens performance was from out of nowhere. Crazy how their coach does that so often. Give him credit. Although it's a HUGE loss that Gronk broke his arm again. Now that he's out they are going to have a tougher time picking up another SB trophy.

I see the 9ers winning on the road against the Falcons and the Pats beating the Ravens setting up a 49ers vs Patriots matchup in the Super Bowl

Well I couldn't have been much more wrong. But I'll try again.

Ravens over Pats
Niners over Falcons

The way Russell Wilson was able to run all over the Falcons defense in the second half makes me think that Kaepernick's gonna have the same kind of game that he did this weekend.

Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers had a little chat before the Niners/Packers game. I wonder what they talked about. If I was Rodgers, I'd be bragging that while Smith was 1st pick, Rodgers has easily had the better career and is starting QB right now while Smith is reduced to a bust of a backup.

I was 3/4 last time. Let's take the Championship Round...

The Falcons' game normally would have ended when they were up 3-0 and Matt Ryan threw an interception. From then on, he would be playing horribly and show why he has the second lowest playoff QB Rating in the NFL. However, surprisingly, he kept his composure and continued to play well. And when Seattle launched the historic comeback that by every right should have gotten them the win... Ryan still stayed calm and got the job done, getting his team in Field Goal range in a half a minute. This is something even Peyton Manning failed to do. Now that he's broken his curse of being terrible in the playoffs and has gotten his first win, the Falcons have some momentum, but the Niners are playing well behind Kaepernick. The Falcons don't have the best run defense in the world and the 49ers are a run-based team. They'll have to do what they do best. I think this game mostly comes down to whether or not the Falcons can account for Kaepernick's scrambling ability. If they man-up the SF receivers too much, they're going to see 100+ yards rushing from this guy. Let's not forget though that SF has been missing Mario Manningham and Kendall Hunter, though. This might not seem to be a big deal considering how well they're doing anyway... and LaMichael James is probably good enough to fill Hunter's role... but Manningham was such a key contributor to the Super Bowl champion Giants last playoffs that he could really have helped with this run. It looks like the Niners have elected to just give more plays to Randy Moss instead, but this has lead to a lot of overthrows.

Prediction : SF 17 ATL 14

The Patriots rolled all over the Texans which was no surprise. The Ravens, meanwhile, overcame great odds and fended off the #1 seeded Broncos. It was a tough match-up that saw them going all-out to win. They have to be riding high on a wave of momentum. If momentum is enough to win a Championship game, then the Ravens have this one in the bag. However, I do believe the Patriots are the better team normally. They did this last year, no problem. They can do it again. Plus, I'm sure they believed they should have won the match-up with Baltimore to begin the regular season. They want payback and you better believe they'll bring it. If it comes down to a late-game comeback need for New England, Tom Brady might be the best in the business.

Prediction : BAL 27 NE 28

As things stand, this is what I think of all the possible super bowl match-ups (though it may change depending on what the teams show me this round)

SF/NE: SF wins
SF/BAL: BAL wins
ATL/NE: NE wins

Crazy Li : Could you explain how you can up with the notion that the 49ers can beat Patriots, but they would lose to the Ravens. I would think the opposite.
