the ideal goverment is one that is not corrupt and it listens to its people and does not discriminate people because of color or of race or gender the ideal government in my opinion is certainly not one run by romney if any else agrees with me romney would be a horrible president because hes raising the poor and middle class people's taxes and lowering the riches am i not the only one here who thinks that is wrong comment if u agree with me.

I don't believe that there is a perfect type of government. All great civilization eventually come to a collapse and failure. Democracy was created in Athens Greece and even though Democracy brought them to be the most powerful civilization of the ancient times they still collapsed which will eventually happen to the USA. Their will always be people who disagree with the government and will revolt against them when they feel that life under that government is not what it seems. All great civilizations are destined to fall nothing is permanent. The persians and the mongols and the romans and the egyptians and the british and the germans have all prospered at times but all of them eventually came to a collapse and that lead to their failures. People take ideas and governments as this great thing but eventually they find its flaws and either revolt or another country takes them out. NOTHING is permanent.

The ideal government is one that can make itself invisible in everyday life. Right now, we have a nanny state regulating our butts off.

I would say an ideal government would mostly be people that won't screw the system up and focus on their own selves, which really made this country really going downhill. So If I have to say, the ideal government would be people that will actually fix up the economy and the country rather than making it worse like we have today, that would make an ideal government.

Depends on what you mean by "ideal". To me its the form of Government the Founding Fathers established in which the States and Federal Government shared power and not the bloated unbalanced and oppressive monstrosity that we have now in which everyone believes its the Federal Government's job to do everything. I think the following illustrates my viewpoint quite well:

THE VALUE OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT
It is a firm principle that the smallest or lowest level that can possibly undertake the task is the one that should do so. First, the community or city. If the city cannot handle it, then the county. Next, the state; and only if no smaller unit can possible do the job should the federal government be considered. It is well to remember that the states of this republic created the Federal Government. The Federal Government did not create the states.

THE PROPER FUNCTION OF GOVERNMENT
This means, then, that the proper function of government is limited only to those spheres of activity within which the individual citizen has the right to act. By deriving its just powers from the governed, government becomes primarily a mechanism for defense against bodily harm, theft and involuntary servitude. It cannot claim the power to redistribute the wealth or force reluctant citizens to perform acts of charity against their will. Government is created by man. No man possesses such power to delegate. The creature cannot exceed the creator.
In general terms, therefore, the proper role of government includes such defensive activities, as maintaining national military and local police forces for protection against loss of life, loss of property, and loss of liberty at the hands of either foreign despots or domestic criminals.

In a nut shell, Government should only do what you can't do yourself.

Normally I avoid questions like this but I'll give it a shot anyway.
What I have noticed is that there is no perfect formula for it. (From the old school Greeks To Modern Day Democracy. All are good for a time.)

The trick is that government has to be practiced and exercised. Not just by the leaders but its people as well.

When the leaders fail to lead by their own example? You can expect a reaction by the masses.
When the people do not even believe in their system? You can believe there will be a reaction to get it adjusted. Change.

But

When the people do not care?
What is there to stop the leaders from being or getting corrupt?

After that?
Someone in power messes up. Then the people react. (It is only a matter of time. Everyone has a pressure point. Something they will not stomach. When enough of them get together?)
Roam Got Burned Down.
France had Heads Rolling.
There are several examples to look up.

The key is always ensuring every ones Participation. When no one cares?
Expect a disaster.

Fun Brain Teaser.
Thanks for the puzzle.
Good Luck.

Good Luck To All.
I'm done. Stick a fork in me.
Peace.

Interesting question and after thinking for a while I've come to the conclusion that there could never be a ideal government.Yes a lack of corruption would be nice and a equal(low) tax system would be fantastic, but I'd need several hundred thousand words to describe it in detail.
