I enjoy watching his movies, and they are some of my favorites. I am about to watch 1-4 lethal weapon, i bought them anyways. A very good actor. Braveheart is another one of my FAVORITE FILMS Also.

Obviously he has a problem with alcohol and why would he just start talking about jews in the middle of an arrest? I wouldn't even worry about it because.... He was drunk. Crucify him for his drunkness... not for things he says when he is drunk.

Why p****-foot around the issue? You know there's risk of loss of life everytime someone drunk gets behind the wheel. Let's seal the deal.

How many of you would DARE think of being behind a wheel with a drop of alcohol in your system, if you knew that if you got caught for any reason, whether it be wrapping your car around a tree, hitting another car, or even just getting pulled over, you would be put to death for being behind the wheel and blowing an illegal blood alcohol level?

So one drop of alcohole in your body, and you drive a car, you deserve to be killed?

I dont got an issue with people driving with alcohole in there system, so long as there under the legal limit (0.05 here). I trust my government, dont you??

As for Mel Gibson, he was drunk, and said some things that he probably didnt mean. Punish him under the modern law for his drink driving and what not. But if i was pulled over, and got done for drink driving, and i said what he said, there would be no uproar about it, so why bother making an uproar when mel gibson does it...

BB85... and others... dont even know how much you are really affected while drunk, its not that much, and your mind set doesnt change from normal to racist bigot after a BAC of 0.08, but it enchances your confindence/charisma which is why he would of been shouting 'i own malabu' (if i was rich i would too), and this confidence would of only released the racist bigot in him... in theory - only he knows for sure

People say there not effected much while drunk, but I beg to differ. The laws 0.05 and 0.08 and whatever, are there because thats when your driving skills (such as vision, reaction) are lowerd.

Neo when drunk you can't even walk in a straight line. It also slows reaction time, and it obviously affects you enough that you shouldn't be driving. What you say about it not affecting mindset is somewhat true. He may think that way normally but he just never says anything. However again I'm not saying to ignore what he said, I'm saying I'm more worried about drunk driving than I am that he started saying stupid stuff.

I am appauled at what he said, and that any of you could excuse it because "he was drunk". He has made the comments before, and just because he was drunk makes no excuse. I lost all respect for him after he made Passion, because of his anti-semetic views.

And you are also wrong to think that anti-semetic comments won't hurt modern Jews. Have you watched the news lately? Remember that whole Isreal/Lebanon conflict? Do you honestly think that doesn't touch the Jews in America? That is like saying that making racial slurs against an African American now doesn't hurt them because there is no slavery anymore. Jews still face discrimination in this country, not as much as other groups, but they do... and it pisses them off and hurts them just as much now as it ever did.

On top of that, driving while drunk and making lewd comments at a police officer (now matter how funny it was) totally deserves a bit of jail time. I say his license gets revoked.

Just to make it clear I do not excuse his remarks. But the drunk driving thing is a huge deal because as is obvious you put your life and other's lives at risk when you drink and drive.

I agree there is no excuse for his actions... he shouldn't have been drinking in the first place. Although it is possible he's frustrated with the unchanging reaction of the Jewish mind though out the past few thousand years.

As to "The Passon of the Christ", is it really pronnouncement of anti-semetic or the fact of Jewish choice and responce to the "Message of Christ".

in reguards to alhohol imparing vision and co-ordination and reaction speed... yeah, i totally needed the reveiw of my 'driver ed' class in high school... but i think u just chose 2 take the 'not much' statement a tad out of context... as i was trying to use in in terms of ones mindset

yeah, if it was any other person, i woundn't worry as much, but hes a popular actor, and had deep christian roots... which may influence the christian community to over look his controversial comments and focus on the drink driving

But the thing is that BECAUSE he is such a huge celebrity, his statements (regardless of his sobriety at the time) have a huge impact. Even though I don't always like it, famous people are role models to the young. Mel Gibson especially with the young Christians because of Passion of the Christ. For him to make those statements is sending a message to the youth that being anti-semetic is okay. If no one calls him down on it seriously, that message is reinforced. Sure, they berate him for drunk driving (and they should), but the comments are just made fun of, not condemned.

There, how's that for a major point that has not been addressed?
