To those of you who are getting eye strain from ---- or even distaste of ---- the 3d effects, try this before talking bad about it: Go to Settings, then 'Other Settings' > '3D Screen Check', and follow the instructions for adjusting the 3d to your level and preference. I really noticed a difference afterwards, as I experienced zero eye strain from OoT3D even at full blast (before, my eyes got a little tired after a little while on the "full blast" level) and what's more, when I played with the depth slider, Link and the environment around him transitioned in depth so naturally that it felt kinda weird, especially since I was used to feeling the eye strain from beforehand.

. . . Mm, how about others here try this themselves and see if I'm not mistaken and that my experience with what I talked about was not coincidental?

All in all, you cannot trust the store models (unless you can/are allowed to adjust the settings on them). And you remember that the 3d stuff isn't the only noteworthy feature of the system, so it's fine if someone has his/her system on 2d mode. It still has the crisp, Wii-quality graphics and the improved wireless functions (over the DS and Wii). =)

It puts a lot of strain on my eyes and eventually my eyes will start to burn. I tend to play without the 3D on now.

Nintendo 3ds... it doesn't see in 3d

It doesn't hurt my eyes unless I use 3d for about 3 hours straight, but I usually play with 3d off anyway, it saves battery life.

Having a 3DS, sometimes it does make your eyes feel uncomfortable for a while, but it goes away in a while. It depends on how far the console is to your eyes. The farther it is the less strain on your eyes, the closer it is the more strain on your eyes. It also depends on what game you are playing. If things our coming at you a lot the 3D effect strains your eyes even more, while if it is a standard game with less action, your eyes will feel less strained. If your eyes ever feel uncomfortable, just turn 3D down, turn 3D off, or just turn the 3DS off and look at things normally, meaning don't play another 3D game on XBOX 360 or PS3.

It dosen't hurt my eyes but it looks strange.

It doesn't affect me massively but I do get a bit disorientated after a while.
I play it on 2d most of the time anyway. 

It does after about five to six hours, but even then I don't really feel the pain that much. At about 10 hours I would stop. Yes, I have played my 3DS for ten hours. Grinding for StreetPass Quest is HARD!

Well, I think it depends on the person playing it.  I haven't had a problem with 3d at all when I tried 3d in those demos and stuff. I don't have it though because I already have a DS lite and DSi

It really didn't hurt my eyes. And if it does, I just stop playing it for a little bit, then play it again. But I never experienced my eyes hurting from it.

Normally it depends on your game. Legend of Zelda is harsh on the eyes. While Super Mario Land is perfect for the 3D function.


Though if you do have problems with your sight in the past or now it isn't suggested you play in 3D mode.

It doesn't hurt my eyes or weird them out. I can instantly focus between 3d, not 3d, and real life. But I have to find the right angle or i see two of them. I just end up in an uncomfortable position, trying to get 3d to work. It's not that bad, though.

It doesn't hurt at all even though my eyesight is 50-15. Playing Street Fighter in 3D, its a whole different world in that game on 3d.
