Suikoden II

The Sequel to a great tale
Ah Suikoden 2, quite a rare genre this game belongs to, this rare gem belongs with such other great games, that may be better than it's original predecessor. Which is truly rare indeed. This game truly brings back some amazing memories, if you want a solid complete game, look no further than this little gem. I am glad to have played this classic since it really made its mark, and contribution to the history of gaming.

Premise: The protagonist (the hero) of Suikoden 2 who is originally nameless, the player decides on the individuals name. (I really don't know sadly if there is an official name for the hero). But the hero of this story goes from a member of the youth brigade in the Highland Kingdom, to eventually being the leader of the rebel group. Which is called the New Alliance Army. The hero later on receives half of the rune of beginning. The hero eventually becomes the leader of the Jowston Army, who eventually comes in conflict with the owner of the other half of his rune, who by chance happens to be his best friend at the beginning of the game, Jowy Atreides. The main villain for most of the game is a person named Luca Blight, who is heir to the throne of Highland.

Graphics:10/10 I gave this game in the area of graphics a ten out of ten, I know in this day and age, the graphics may not look top notch, but given the time period this game was introduced at, these were some of the top of the line graphics. SO I decided to grade this game as it were, not how it should be now. Especially to give this amazing game, anything less than a deserving ten is ludicrous. But if you are around the age of 25, I would seriously suggest this game to you, as you grew up within the Super Nintendo era, and such. But do not get me wrong, young or old would love the vibrant colors, and color scheme of this beautifully crafted game.

Sound:10/10 I gave this game in the area of sound a ten out of ten. This game had some of the most amazing music in the hi... Read the rest of this Review
Suikoden

A Classic RPG
Wow Suikoden, where do I even being with this game. If you want my opinion, if you could only play one game from the era of Playstation choose Suikoden, The first one or the second one, but this review is for the first one. This game is truly legendary, I don't even think my words can even come close to saying how good this game is, and giving it justice. Surprisingly, yet sadly enough, I wasn't even aware of this game, when it was out, I had to be shown this awesome game sadly. This ranks as my favorite game of not only on Playstation, but ever. I promise you if this is the only part of my review that you read, then just play this game, I promise you will not ever regret it. Now on to my review of this
awesome game.

The Premise: The Hero (which is originally unnamed, basically you can call him whatever, I really don't think there is an official name for him, forgive me if there is though). Has a father named Teo McDohl who is the General of the Scarlet Moon Empire the father is called away to fight a battle for his empire in the North lands, upon leaving he entrusts his son under the care of several family, and friends to begin his career in the Imperial Army. The Hero of the story upon entering the Army, realizes that the upper class, and military head are corrupted, while there people are enslaved, and miserable. Which he found out earlier through missions that were assigned to him. Later on in the story the hero receives a rune that is the Rune of Life and Death, also known as the "Soul Eater."  From his friend named Ted. This rune is one of the 27 Runes that control, and make up the world. The corrupted leaders who yearned and searched for this rune hunted after this rune, which brought the Hero, and his friends in direct confrontation, with the corrupted officials, and made them flee the capital city called Gregminster. Quest 64

Timeless Quest
Ah Quest 64 my oh my does this game bring back memories, for such an unknown obscure little title that thankfully did not end up lost in the fabrics of time for me, did this game bring back joyful memories for me, I am definitely am going to replay this game again, once I am done with a few other classics on this site. Suggestion for anyone on the fence for this game, I guarantee you will like it, young or old there is something for everyone with this game. Alright now let's kick off this review with a premise of this particular game.

Premise: You are a young child (The main character of the game) The character's name is Brian, one day Brian notices that his father has left what is called the Monastery of the Mages (Starting point of the game). Eventually Brian finds out that someone stole the "Eletale Book" (such a classic name in my opinion, I still remember the name of this awesome name book today I don't know why, but it's just such a classy and catchy name for me). Which his father is looking for and the thief who stole it. On his "Quest" Brian collects these magical medallion like crystals that hold the power of a specific element, that are stolen by the main bosses of the game. And these medallions are vital for the completion of the game.

Overall: 9.9/10 I rated this game a nine point nine out of ten, I really wanted to give this game just a perfect 10, it truly deserves it, but there is something missing, something dire that would have made this game such a classic in the history of gaming, if they incorporated this into the equation this...this then would have been in the ranks of such legendary classic's as Mario RPG The Legend of Seven Stars, Suikoden, Final Fantasy, and Lunar The Silver Star Story. Sadly it fell short in the area of the replay ability, if they added anything, and I mean anything to an end game plus, it would have been an amazing game. I mean it still is an amazing game none the less, and you can replay it countless t... Read the rest of this Review
Space Ace

A Space Tale for another galaxy
Ah the classic Space ace the story that would either make you laugh from the corniness of it all, cry because it's so cheesy, but amusing, or bang your fist along the wall, because you missed that button, and you have to start all over because you ran out of lives. Oh man that is why I love saves, saving was in my opinion the best thing in video games since sound.

The premise: A classic tale of heroic behavior gets the maiden in distress come to life, well at least in gaming life, the classic big buff male, trying to save the weak female, maybe one day they will make a space she ace, who knows. But anyways the main premise is the main character named Ace, who is sharing his adventures with his lovely girlfriend named Kimberly, I am not really sure if she was ever mentioned as a princess or a queen, but to me at least in my opinion she looks like a possible galactic queen like such classic examples of Rosalina from the Mario verse, and basically one day a space vigilante and or pirate named Borf, uproots the adventure's of Ace, and steals his girlfriend, but not without using his crazy infamous ray called the "infanto ray" (classic and original name right I know I know). Which turns good old Ace into a juvenile. Now not like a cool kid like in the movie Three Ninja's no a very annoying kid that you can't really stand too much, at least for me that is. And basically it's a quest to go help your girlfriend be freed, and ruin the plans of Commander Borf.

Overall: 7.5/10 I rated it a seven point five out of ten, now I know from my premise it did not sound like I liked it at all that much, but really for it's time it was iconic, and not lacking really in any area other than the Depth aspect. If you like the classic Prince saves the princess genre then this my good friend is right up your alley. For the time period this was in it was quite legendary also it was a spin off to the iconic Dragon Tails which the majority of course loves that series.

The Pre Tale of Two worlds
Hello everyone, I am a student, in the field of game review, I am a learner in progress, so here goes another review for me

Graphics:I rated it a 9 for it's time the graphics were really well done, when seeing this first time as a kid I thought what an illustrious game this is, I really wanted to rate this a 10 I truly do, but I know by today standards everyone would have looked at my post and thought I had nine, yes nine heads. If you wanted my unofficial response to this I say give this game a 10 without a doubt the color scheme alone will have you drooling, Even it's pix elated ( I think that is the correct word here) or should I say more along the lines of sprites whichever is the correct one, I would say for the time at hand is very well done. But you see I am not sure sub consciously I might be bias, because I grew up in the area of Mortal Kombat, where they used actual people within the game, so other's I would say who are younger than around 24 or 23 take my words with caution here since I could be swayed by older games.

Sound: 9 I gave sound a 9 as stated earlier this game is an amazing legendary series, I am in the category of Sound as well as any category really truly ranks high in my book. But the sound I hold dear, every time I hear this music play aloud, it always brings back childhood memories, such vivid, and lively memories, of how I used to go to the arcades, and my mother used to find me a milk cart as I used to be to small to play such games at the cabinet, once on that milk cart though, I went to town on that game, but anyways the sound on this is magnificent, as this is a totally different subject, as all sounds can't be viewed by the eye, I would safely say there is no bias on this one, so if I find it to my liking another should to, but we are all different so I will take an air of caution here, but I can safely say though the majority will like the sound in the game. And I am fairly certain the majority will like this. Read the rest of this Review
