Legend of Zelda, The - Ocarina of Time

Started it all!
Overall: 10!

Of course this was review was going to happen, I'm a HUGE Zelda fan!! I've played almost all the games and my favorite has to be Majora's Mask. But I HAD to give this game a 10 because this was the one that sparked my love for the franchise. I remember playing this game as a young lad and enjoying every minute of it! I mean, playing it now at the age of 23, it still puts the same smile on my face when I hear the opening theme.  Everything altogether is a 10, individually I don't rank them so high because it's when it's all together that it's truly something special. This game is considered a Masterpiece by almost all gamers, even if they don't even like it. I mean, we all have to seriously consider how amazing this game is. And the 3DS remake is just as good as the original and it even includes the Master Quest after you beat it for the first time! I never had the Master Quest version when I was a kid, so you could imagine my excitement when I heard about it being in the remake. But that's enough about that, let us continue, shall we?

Playing it when I was younger, I never really cared for anything besides the fact that I was a Hero and could travel through certain points in time and I had a bad ass sword!! What isn't there to love? But playing it nowadays, it definitely gives away it's age, but only ever in the best way possible. Some things in this will creep me out because the graphics, and some things are down right hilarious. I won't be too harsh on them because back then, you had to work with very little compared to what we have now and I think it was mostly very creative. And who doesn't remember that damned creepy creature in the spirit temple? Oh yeah! The Dead Hand! Fuck that thing, it still gives me nightmares sometimes.

Sound: 10!

Are you kidding? Greatest soundtrack of all time!! Ask anyone, they've heard SOMETHING from this game. It's too iconic to ignore. In my opinion, the ove... Read the rest of this Review
Digimon World

Equipped "Nostalgia Goggles"
Overall: 10

I'm not going to apologize if this review seems bias, because it is supposed to be my opinion, right? This game brings back so many great memories for me from when I was a child and first getting into video games. I first remember seeing it when my baby sitter used to watch me when I was like 5 or 6. I remember seeing this awesome monster thing on the screen that just kept changing its form and that blew me away!! I asked what it was and my baby sitter, without hesitation, sat me in front of the living room TV and turned on a show called Digimon. This was even before I ever saw Pokémon so I had no clue as to what was going on. She explained it to me, but my focus was on the monsters. This love stuck with me through my whole life! Some years went by before I was able to buy a PlayStation and Digimon World 1, so I was about 12. Sorry about that little story, but I had to give some history and explain why I loved it. On to the actual review!!

Graphics: 8

I'm only being honest here, the PSX didn't have the GREATEST graphics, but playing it now at the age of 23 definitely brought back the incredible era of creativity in video games when it comes to only working with so much.

Sound: 9

Definitely iconic music and sounds to me! I find myself sometimes humming the File City over world theme from time to time.

Addictiveness: 10!

It is incredibly addictive!! There are so many ways to raise your Digimon! Depending on how you raise and train them, you don't even have to follow the "real" digivolutions! It made me want to train differently every time I started over with a new In-training just to see which routes were faster to take to get to which digimon. Every time I pick up the controller, there's no setting it back down for a while. There's even bonus stuff to do AFTER Mt. Infinity!

Story: 7

There was a story, you have to save File City by raising Digimon to fight Machinedramon ... Read the rest of this Review
