Elder Scrolls Online, The: Tamriel Unlimited

Trip Through Tamriel Online
Hello again everyone! You should already know what time it is if you’ve been keeping up with my current streak, but if you don’t: I’m back with yet another review, for yet another RPG! Earlier this week I did a review on Skyrim, and this game is in that same vein. Today, I’ll be reviewing The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited! Before we get into the review, I’d like to do my usual spiel of background information for those who don’t know much about it and to talk a bit about things that don’t fit the actual review. This background bit, however, won’t be as detailed due to the simple fact I spoke quite a bit about it in the Skyrim review.
If you don’t know, the Elder Scrolls is a series of games (and other content, of course) by Bethesda that centers around the fictional continent of Tamriel. Tamriel is a continent that seems to be constantly at war with itself, with many races holding grudges and always attempting to be the ‘top dog’ of the land. It also always seems to be in a constant state of crisis, from the Oblivion gates to the return of Alduin and again, the constant state of war. However, Elder Scrolls Online doesn’t feature any of it and instead sets place at least 800 years before the main series (at least, before Morrowind.)

It also hasn’t garnered the praise the other games has, especially due to a rough start. It started as a monthly subscription, and that version flopped. But the lack of praise has been changing as of late, due to all the changes they have made and all the new content that they have been pouring into it.

With that information in mind, let’s get into the actual game review!

Addictiveness
So, typically I can’t really seem to put games down due to how much fun I’m having/ And, while Elder Scrolls Online is most certainly fun, it’s not the kind of fun (for me anyhow) that keeps you on for long perio... Read the rest of this Review
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, The

A Wild Breath of Fresh Air
What up folks! You probably have guessed what this is by now, but if you haven’t: It’s me again, with yet another game review! Today, I’d like to review a game that many people seem to agree is a stellar game - Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild! (Well, looks like I’m on a roll with all these RPG reviews huh?) As per usual, before I get into the actual review, I’d like to give everyone a bit of background on the series the game is in, as that doesn’t really fit into the actual review itself.

The Legend of Zelda series is one of Nintendo’s Big 3 series that are pretty much recognized across the world (the other two being Pokemon and Mario). The series centers around the main character Link, the princess Zelda, and their enemy Ganondorf. Now, they aren’t always the exact same people -- the series uses the same ‘formula’ of Link gaining the master sword and defeating Ganondorf, and does it across different times. The character will always share the same name, but will not be the same person. The game really centers on the ‘Triforce’, which each of the main characters represent (Link represents Courage usually, Zelda is Wisdom, and Ganon/Ganondorf is Power). Many people consider the Zelda series to be one of the best video game series of all time, and like most of Nintendo’s series it has quite a large following and also a large amount of media that isn’t just the main series.

Now that you guys know a bit more about the Zelda series, how about we get into the actual review? Let’s begin.

Addictiveness

Look, the game is hard as heck. Frustrating as heck (which I’ll explain more in the difficulty section). I got so angry at one point I almost threw my Switch. But, I have to admit, it was still fun and very addicting. Once I got on a roll, you couldn’t get me off (mainly because I knew if I got off I wouldn’t gain that same moment... Dragon Age: Inquisition

No One Escapes the Inquisition
Hello, hello, hello everyone! It’s me again, hitting y’all with yet another review today. The review today will be for the RPG game, Dragon Age: Inquisition. As usual though, before I get into the actual review, I’d like to talk a bit about the series itself and talk about items that don’t actually fit into the actual review itself.

The Dragon Age series is a darker fantasy RPG game, made by BioWare. The series is based in the fictional content of Thedas, and the name comes from the current age the land finds itself in (which is the Dragon age). The series starts with the coming of the Fifth Blight, which changes the land of Thedas forever and puts you as the Grey Warden who saves the land. The Blight is part of the reason for the second game, which finds the start of the mage-templar war, with your character (Hawke) in the center of the whole mess, and is a war the carries into the third game, Inquisition. There has also been a civil war in the kingdom of Ferelden (the kingdom the games are focused in) that spans all of the games, and is a big part of the main story in all 3 games. The series has spawned quite a few DLC and spin-offs, books/novels/comics, web series and a film, a tabletop version, and mobile games. Simply put, the story the games tell is vast and expands out of the actual games, and it’s a game that has done well enough to spawn so many different things.

Now that you have a vague idea about the series, let’s get right into the review shall we?

Difficulty

This game, to be quite honest with you, can be difficult. It’s a very open kind of game - it lets you choose what you want to do, but it does make you follow the storyline at least if you want to progress to the finish. But, this does cause issues if you aren’t prepared. I remember constantly going to the Hinterlands and encountering this rift that I could not get through at all due to how low my level was compared... Read the rest of this Review
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Special Edition

Skyrim: A Powerhouse of a Game
Hello again, friends and other folks of this website! I’m here again with another review, this time on a game that never seems to die. That’s right folks, today I’ll be reviewing the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Before I get into the actual game though, I’d like to talk a bit about the background of the series and some bits about the game that don’t exactly fit inside the game itself.

The Elder Scrolls series is based in the continent of Tamriel, a land full of strife, monsters, and magic. Each game focuses on a specific kingdom/land of Tamriel, and takes you all over the specified land to complete quests and save the world from complete and total destruction. Thus far, about 4 or 5 areas have been explored in the main games (Breton’s home High Rock, Dark Elves home Morrowind, Imperial’s home Cyrodil, and Nord’s home Skyrim. The first sorta went all over Tamriel, with no specific location.)

Skyrim is definitely the most famous of the series, becoming so famous that many people (especially ones I know) don’t even realize it’s actually part of a series. It was a breakthrough in the world of gaming, changing the field of game design drastically. It continues to hold a high player count even after all these years, and continues to hold incredible ratings. This game is, quite honestly, going to go down in history. Which is why I’d like to review it all for you guys, and show you just why this game is the powerhouse it is.

Let’s get into the review, shall we?

Difficulty

Difficulty is a bit of a hard one to rate for this one, simply considering the fact you can change the difficulty at will. The game can be a cakewalk if you choose it to be, or it can be a actual nightmare for you. I was playing for the story and to relax after doing a lot of stuff, so I never really played it in a way that would challenge me. It can be a bit confusing at first, I admit (but th... Persona 5

A Persona 5 Review
Hello, everyone! Today I will be reviewing the game Persona 5. Before I start, I’d like to give you all a bit of background on the Persona series itself.
The Persona series is actually a spinoff of the game series Shin Megami Tensei, specifically from the well received setting in ‘Shin Megami Tensei If…’  (which was the high school setting the Persona games all have). The name is based off the fact that the game allows you to summon monsters/characters that are based on aspects of personality.

The series revolves around different aspects of the psyche, and uses enemies called ‘shadows’/’demons’ that are typically based off of Gods or demons or any mythical beings from multiple fables and stories, with the main character being the only one able to wield multiple Persona. The games also use the major Arcana (aka Tarot cards) to assign ‘roles’ of sorts for the characters, which allows you to strengthen bonds with those characters and gain abilities
.Now that you know a bit more about the series, let's get into the actual review. How I will be doing it is that I’ll be starting from lowest score to the highest score. At the end, I will tell you the overall score, and also summarize the review if you would rather not read a huge wall of text. Let us begin, shall we?

Difficulty

This game can be a bit confusing at the start if you have never played a Persona game before, as it has many different controls and makes it so you must be stealthy to avoid being kicked out of the dungeon and wasting time. If you make too many mistakes, you will get a game over and you will also miss out on some content and the likes when you waste time due to mistakes. But, once you get the hang of the controls, the game is easier, Definitely not the easiest game around still, but definitely easier. The battle system is simple and a lot like old school FF (turn based, with ‘magic’... Read the rest of this Review
