MLB The Show 18

MLB The Show 18 Review
With the NHL franchise going down the tubes in recent years (thanks EA), MLB The Show has become my new go-to game. I've been a big fan of the franchise for years, ever since I first played MLB 09: The Show when I got my PS3. I was amazed at how far ahead of every other sports franchise The Show was, and that remains true to this day. Since then, MLB The Show's popularity has skyrocketed, thanks in large part to the re-vamp of Diamond Dynasty in MLB 15: The Show. The huge spike in popularity has provided more opportunities for Sony's San Diego Studio, but has also brought along a number of challenges. In this review I will discuss the basic elements of the game, including sound, graphics, depth, etc., but I will also discuss how the series has transformed over time, and what San Diego Studio needs to do to prevent themselves from becoming the next EA Sports. I will also make a few comparisons to NHL 19 in this review, to demonstrate how MLB The Show does things better. If you haven't seen my complaints about NHL 19, you can read that review here.

Graphics: 10

The graphics in MLB The Show games have always been phenomenal. They were miles ahead of any other sports game when I first played MLB The Show back in 2009, and they are still miles ahead today. The players look incredibly lifelike, the stadiums are gorgeous and easily distinguishable, and the attention to detail is mind blowing. There isn't a single sports game on the market where you can immediately tell which player is which by looking at their face the way you can in MLB The Show 18. The animations are incredible as well. There are thousands of different batting stances and pitching deliveries, including custom ones for nearly every every current player, as well as hundreds of retired players and legends. Every batting stance and pitching delivery is created specific for that player, and is remarkably close to what they do in real life. There is also a ton of customization options for... NHL 19

EA Sports Continues to Ruin NHL Games
NHL 13 was a great game that I thoroughly enjoyed. NHL 14 was a game I spent countless hours playing, from the time it was released until the day NHL 15 came out. NHL 15, the first game on the "next generation" of consoles (PS4 and Xbox One) sucked. NHL 16 was slightly better, but everything has been downhill since then. NHL 19 is just the latest in a series of horribly disappointing and terribly executed games by EA Sports.

Graphics: 8

If NHL 19 has any strengths at all, I would have to say it's the graphics. The game does look pretty nice. The players skate smoothly, have unique facial features that allows you to tell who they are without looking at the back of their jersey, and there is a lot of customization when it comes to equipment. There are also a ton of goal celebrations in the game, some of which are based on player's signature celebrations in real life, others of which are just awesome or funny celebrations for your Be a Pro or EASHL characters, like the "Air Guitar Solo" celebration. In most aspects, the visuals in the game are good. However, there are also a pretty good number of visual glitches. If your goalie is too tall, for example, his back will go through the crossbar when standing up. It is also not uncommon for two players to have their sticks or parts of their bodies go through each other. I've also encountered instances where the puck has gone through players. Despite the upsides the graphics have in NHL 19, I can't possibly rate them higher than an 8, due to the abundance of visual glitches in the game.

Sound: 6

The soundtrack in NHL 19 is garbage. Prior to the transition to the PS4 and Xbox 360, NHL games always had great soundtracks, full of rock and metal songs. Songs that actually fit in with a sport that's full of hits and collisions and fights. NHL 19, on the other hand, features a bunch of pop and EDM songs that don't fit in with hockey at all. Instead of soundtrack full of artists like The ... Read the rest of this Review
Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee!

Pokemon Let's Go Eevee Review
When I first saw advertisements for Pokemon Let's Go Eevee and Pikachu for the Nintendo Switch, I laughed. The way Nintendo advertised the game was that it was like Pokemon Go, but for a console. In other words, Pokemon Go without the "Go" part. My brother and I joked about about it, referring to it as "Pokemon Stay" or "Pokemon Stay at Home." Then when I saw former Yankees pitcher Phil Hughes posting screenshots of the game on Twitter, I became interested. It looked like a full-fledged game, not the modified Pokemon Go I was expecting. The day after I got my Nintendo Switch for Christmas, I decided to head to Target to pick up a copy of Pokemon Let's Go Eevee, and try the game out for myself. After having now invested over 20 hours into the game and beating the Pokemon League, here are my thoughts on the experience.

Graphics: 10

The graphics in Pokemon Let's Go Eevee are phenomenal. The Pokemon sprites look great, the characters are adorable, and the overworld is beautiful. I am a huge fan of the stylistic approach that was used when creating the graphics for this game. The designers opted for a more cute and scenic style, which compliments the concept of the game very well, since Pokemon Let's Go is focused more on catching and loving your Pokemon rather than battling. Overall, the game looks beautiful, and even though there are so many games that take place in Kanto, Let's Go allows you to experience the Kanto region in a completely new way. The graphics are one of Pokemon Let's Go Eevee's strongest qualities, and I think it easily deserves a perfect 10 out of 10 rating.

Sound: 9

I don't have too much to say about the sound in Pokemon Let's Go Eevee. A lot of the soundtrack is very similar to previous Kanto Pokemon games. Most of the music in the different cities and towns are the same, including the iconic Lavender Town music. While the songs are the same, however, they do sound a lot nicer. The music is smoother and ... Read the rest of this Review
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

You Tryna Smash (Bros)? - Review
The newest installment in the Super Smash Bros franchise was released last month for the Nintendo Switch. It was an incredibly highly anticipated game, as the inclusion of every character from old Super Smash Bros games - as well as new characters such as King K. Rool and Ridley - had Smash fans excited. Is the game as good as it could have been, or is it a flop like Brawl? Has Melee finally been dethroned as the best Smash game? Let's break it down.

Graphics: 10

The graphics in Smash Ultimate are pretty good. It's hard to make a game visually appealing when the game includes over 70 characters from over 30 different franchise, all of which have different art styles. Smash Ultimate does do this pretty well however, with even two-dimensional characters like Mr. Game & Watch fitting in. The characters are also more detailed than any other Smash game, as are the stages. The stages are all beautifully designed, and do a great job replicating the feel of the game they are based on. I also like how they left a lot of the older stages the same as they were in their original games, such as Saffron City from the original Nintendo 64 version of Super Smash Bros, to create a nostalgic vibe. It's hard for a game filled with cartoon-style characters to get any more visually pleasing than Smash Bros Ultimate is, and for that reason I have given it a perfect 10 out of 10 rating.

Sound: 10

Like previous Smash games, Smash Bros. Ultimate contains a diverse soundtrack of music from a bunch of different games. In addition to the music you start with, you can also unlock new songs by playing the game and completing challenges, or by buying songs from the shop using the gold coins you earn throughout the game. Each stage plays music from the game that the stage is based on, which contributes to the unique feeling that exists within the different stages. In addition to the music, the sound effects are pretty good as well. Every action or attack... Read the rest of this Review
South Park: The Stick of Truth

South Park: The Review of Truth
I first started watching South Park last year, when my suitemate introduced me to the show. I was instantly hooked, as the humor used in the show is right up my alley. My suitemate gave me his Hulu password, and I began to make my way through the 20+ seasons. Around the same time I was hooked on the South Park show, South Park: The Fractured But Whole was released. I decided to purchase the game, and it came with a download code for the previous South Park video game, The Stick of Truth. I started to play The Stick of Truth during Christmas Break last year, and got hooked on it just as quickly as I had the show.

Video games based on movies and TV shows generally suck. They appeal to fans and rely on the name to generate sales, while often being mediocre in terms of actually gameplay. The most infamous example of this is likely the awful "Back to the Future" game for the NES. The Stick of Truth is an exception to this generalization. The game has it's own unique story, simple yet fun gameplay mechanics, and a surprising amount of depth. It also does all of this while staying true to the style of the show it is based on.

Gameplay: 9

The gameplay in The Stick of Truth is simple, but very fun. In the overworld, you control a customizable character, as you travel through South Park, Colorado and other areas from the show (including Canada, buddy!) You can interact with certain aspects of the environment, such as opening drawers and shooting things (once you unlock the ability to do so). You can also talk to NPCs, who all have something funny or clever to say. When you run into an enemy, you will enter into a battle with them. Battles are turn-based, and require you to use melee attacks, range attacks, magic (farts), and special abilities to defeat your opponents. In addition to your character, you can also use a buddy in battle with you, all of which have their own special moves. The buddy feature allows you to use a lot of the mai... Pokemon Emerald

How to Catch Em All and Complete the Pokedex in Gen 3
In October, I started a challenge to complete the Pokedex in generation 3. I'm currently have around 340 or 350 Pokemon, out of the 386 Pokemon that exist in the first three generations. My challenge was interrupted when I got my Switch for Christmas, as I wanted to play my new games, but I will finish it. Here's how you can complete the Pokedex in generation 3 as well. (Note: This requires multiple games, and I wasn't sure which game to list it under. I went with Emerald just because it seems to be the most popular gen 3 game, but you don't actually need Emerald at all to complete the Pokedex.)

Here is what you will need:

-Two Game Boy Advances
-A GBA link cable
-A Game Cube
-A GBA to Game Cube cable
-Pokemon Ruby
-Pokemon Sapphire
-Pokemon Leaf Green
-Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness
-Pokemon Colosseum
-Pokemon Colosseum Bonus Disc if you want Jirachi (US)
-A lot of time, patience, and dedication

If you have Pokemon Emerald and you want to use it you can, but you still need either Ruby or Sapphire as well. If you use Ruby and Emerald you can't get Lunatone and if you use Sapphire and Emerald you can't get Zangoose, however both Lunatone and Zangoose can be acquired in Pokemon XD. Pokemon Emerald also gives you access to a lot of Johto Pokemon, however you will be required to snag and purify these Pokemon in Colosseum anyway to get Ho-Oh (I'll discuss how to get Ho-Oh later).

Also, the reason you need Leaf Green rather than Fire Red, is that all of the version exclusive Pokemon from Fire Red can be obtained through other means. However, the only way to acquire the Slowpoke line is through Leaf Green. You can use Fire Red in addition to Leaf Green if you wish, but it won't help much, since there are no Pokemon that are unique to Fire Red.

I am now going to list every Pokemon and the possible ways to obtain them in generation 3. After that I will discus... Read the rest of this Guide

Super Mario Bros Guide
This is the guide that I started typing the other day, and I lost half way through. It is a strategy guide for Super Mario Bros. I will give you a list of item locations for every level, as well as any tips and/or tricks. Let's get started!

World 1-1

Tips and tricks:
- If you go in the fourth pipe, it will lead you to a secret room underground that has a lot of coins in it. It also allows you to bypass a lot of the level.

Locations of items:
- There is a mushroom / fire flower in the second question mark box that you encounter.
- There is a 1 Up in a hidden box right after the fourth pipe
- The first question mark box that you encounter after the fourth pipe has a mushroom / fire flower in it.
- The second of the two connected blocks in the middle of nowhere has a invincibility star (also know as a Starman) in it.
- The top question mark box in the formation of question mark boxes that has 3 on the bottom and 1 on the top has a mushroom / fire flower in it.

World 1-2

Tips and tricks:
- After the formation of blocks that looks like a W, there is a group of blocks that you can only get under if you are small. If you break them and jump up, then go over one, then break all of the ones above you, then go to the left one, then break the blocks above you and jump up, you can run above most of the level.
- The first pipe that you encounter leads to a secret room with a lot of coins in it.
- If you go above the pipe after the second set of elevator thingies, you will enter a warp zone that will take you to either world 2, world 3, or world 4.

Locations of items:
- There is a mushroom / fire flower in the very first question mark box that you encounter.
- The top right block of the group of blocks that looks like a W has an invincibility star in it.
- The top right block of the group of blocks that looks like a backwards J has a mushroom / fire flower in it.
- There is a... Read the rest of this Guide

Pokemon Ultimate Ruby Walkthrough
Hello Vizzed! I am tgags123, the creator of Pokemon Ultimate Ruby. I will be making a walkthrough of Pokemon Ultimate Ruby to help you out. I can guarantee that this walkthrough is completely accurate, since I am the one that made the game. Just a heads up, this will be boring. I only recommend reading this if you need help with the game, it isn't exactly something you would want to read for fun. Also, I will be doing this walkthrough in the same format as the one that I made for Pokemon Aquamarine, just because that format seemed to work well.

1. Introduction

Starter Town

Once you get off of the moving truck, you arrive in a town called Starter Town. There is a reason that it is called that, and I will get to in it a little bit. Once you get off of the truck, your mom will tell you that you have arrived at your new home, and she will ask you to set your clock. Go up the stairs in the top right corner and set your clock. If you go up to the computer on the left of your room, you can get a potion by clicking "Withdraw Items". If you chose the male character, you will notice that there is a patch of grass in the lower right hand corner. If you walk in that grass wild Pokemon will appear, so do not go there until you have a Pokemon. Once you set your clock you will be allowed to go back downstairs. Your mom will tell you to go watch TV. She will say that your father (yes, you actually have a father in this game!) was on the TV, but you missed him. Then she will tell you to go to the house next door. When you go into that house, a woman will meet you and tell you that her child is up stairs. Go up stairs and talk to whoever is there. It will be May if you chose the male character, and Brendan if you chose the female character. Once they are finished talking to you, you are going to head to the route north of Starter Town. When you try to leave the town, a girl will tell you that someone is in trouble and ask you to help. You will see Professor... Read the rest of this Guide

Jigsaw's Test (Mario Hack) Walkthrough
*THIS ENTIRE WALK THROUGH IS A SPOILER. DO NOT READ IF YOU WANT TO TRY TO FIGURE IT OUT ON YOUR OWN!!!*

Jigsaw's Test is a fun and unique Mario hack that I found a while ago. You are trapped in a room, and need to find a way to escape. The whole point of the game is to try to figure it out before time runs out, but I thought that since I beat it, I should make a walk through to help people that get stuck (or are too lazy to figure it out). So let's get started.

You start off on a level select screen, however there is only one level that you can choose. You are going to choose it, obviously. You will get some messages and stuff from Jigsaw saying that you are trapped and need to find a way out, blah blah blah.

The first thing that you need to do is go to the little cabinet thing on the floor and press up. You will find a rusty hammer that you can use later on in the game.

Next you are going to jump onto the ledge where the glass is and press up. That will break the glass using the rusty hammer, revealing a ladder.

Climb the ladder and go to the right. You will find a note that says "When you are surrounded by darkness, follow the light in your heart."

The first part of the note is a hint. The only time you are surrounded by darkness is halfway up the ladder. Go halfway up the ladder, where it is dark, and move to the left.

You will find a small room with another note. This note says "Follow the blood." Another hint.

The only part of the level with blood is by where you found the first note. Go there.

Stand on top of the bloody part of the wall and press X (or whatever button you have set to the spinning jump thing). The part of the wall with the blood will crumble.

You will find a knife with a note. The note says "How much pain are you willing to suffer in order to save your own life? The clock is ticking.... Live or Die.

There will be a knife next to you. If you touch ... Read the rest of this Guide

Pokemon Aquamarine Walkthrough Part 1
*Layout turned off*

Hello Vizzed users! I am tgags123, the creator of this hack, Pokemon Aquamarine. I was asked if I could make a list of Pokemon locations, but by route not by Pokemon. I am going to do one better. I am going to make a walkthrough. I can guarantee that this walkthrough is accurate because, well, I made the hack! I may or may not break it up into parts. I am not sure yet. Anyway, I hope this will help you. It will be very long and boring, so sorry about that in advanced.

1. Introduction

Littleroot Town

You start off in Littleroot Town, and arrive in the moving truck. Apparently putting children in with the furniture is acceptable in the Pokemon world, because that is where you are. You arrive in Littleroot Town and hop out of the truck. Your mom will give you a little intro and tell you to go do stuff in your room. Go into your room and set the clock. If you check the computer and go to "Withdraw items" you can get a free potion. If you chose a male character, you will notice that there is a single patch of grass in the corner. That patch of grass has level 2 through 4 Pikachus and Eevees in it, so do not walk into it until you have a Pokemon. Once you have set the clock and taken your potion, you can go back downstairs. Your mom will call you over to the TV. She will then tell you to go next door. Go next door. Your friend's mom will talk to you and tell you to go upstairs. Go upstairs and walk up to the Pokeball in the middle of the room. Click "A". Your friend, either May or Brandon, will come in. They will talk to you for a bit. After that you will go north of Littleroot Town. When you try to exit the city a girl will ask you to investigate. You will go out and see Professor Birch being chased by a wild Pokemon. He will tell you to choose a Pokemon and save him. This is where you get to pick your starter.
