Rickroll A 6.4 game. LOL.
Strider 2 (USA 991213) I have a new Joystick (Ment for Flight sims.) I have tested multiple controler combos. I am now building a "Fight Stick". "Ho. Ho. Ho. now I Have A..."..something. Good Luck To All. Peace.
S.T.U.N. Runner (rev 6) Miss this game
Legend of Zelda - The Stone Legion, The Level 2 for the show. New puzzles. Hope I can figure them out. It's been a long time since I was Ten years old.
Legend of Zelda - The Stone Legion, The Level one done and I'm having fun. Can't wait for the next stage. Good Luck To All. Peace.
Legend of Zelda - The Stone Legion, The I will clear a whole weeks worth of week-ends to play and enjoy this. Thank You Gentlemen. Peace.
Run Saber having issues with the the graphics. If I move forward? The main character sprite vanishes. If I move backward? The sprite is visible. Good Luck. Peace.
Metal Gear 2 - Solid Snake Good Thing I already have a copy of this on my H.D. 360 Disk. I was going to do a Photo Strategy Session for this place. Oh well.
Metal Gear 2 - Solid Snake Can't Get the Controls to Function Properly. No Inventory Button, Or Item use Button, Or Weapon Button, Or Even a Codec Button. Only Move and Punch. No save state button either. This thing can not be played.
Metal Gear 2 - Solid Snake Talk about a pain. This game was too ahead of it's time.

Happy Birthday.
The only "L.J.N." game that can be completed with Skill.
As opposed to most L.J.N. Games this one might have been tested before releasing for playability.
Not much to say about this game other than it makes little sense.
They got the main characters looks right and some of his powers.
They got the the story aspects down in an o.k. if not repetitive manner.
Unfortunately the gameplay suffers and the maps and foes look incomplete.
If a person employs a fair amount of memorization?
Then one can complete this thing.
The amount of chances a player gets are few to start up but if one explores a little then they can find power-ups and 1-ups and Continues littered in secret rooms.
The obsticals serve as the main challenge. The foes can be delt with in a similar manner.
Avoid them like zombies in resident evil. ... Remember to duck though. They shoot.
The only main two foes you need to worry about are Magneto and Sabertooth.
(You'll know them when you see them.)
I would talk about controls and limitations on tools to get the job done and upgrades that can be found.
But.
There is no timer. (Unlike most N.E.S. Games. So explore, and have fun.)

The Scores???
Graphics: Are Terrible. But at least they still hold up in an N.E.S. still Without Glitches.
Even with this??? I give them a Four.

Sound: Three.
It is that bad. If you do not go nuts listening to this? Then you are not human.

Addictiveness: Four.
It is not really addictive for the modern generation. It is only addicting if you need to complete a game. (No matter how bad the game is.)

Story: Three.
It is Wolverines birthday.
Unless you have read the comics? You will have no Idea what that means.

Depth: Three.
You can go around saving the entire crew of X-Men but They end up freeing themselves anyway.
Just run the obstical Course and eliminate Magne... Read the rest of this Review

"I hope someone was watching because I have no intention of doing that again."
The Games No One Knows About.

This Game has a counterpart on the Genisis That has better graphics but I stuck to this one.

Note: Go to Google and Print up a map of the Caribbean Islands In The Gulf of Mexico. Be ready to get a fun geography lesson. This game uses real locations. So, if you want to get around just type up the location on google maps. (I have mine memorized.)

I dig games like this that actually teach a bit of history.

Lets start with a Brief "How to survive the first five minutes" section.

Create your character at the start. And... "Fight."
The Fencing Sections have an Ego Gauge instead of a typical life bar.
The more hits you take the less confident you perform.
The Thing that stops most players is that you have to keep an eye on the crew numbers all the time.
If that drops?
So do your stats and ability to win.

If you have won you have a Boat.
Then you can begin.

This game constantly can drain a person due to the fact that you have to weigh and measure your stats and crew constantly.

You are forever hitting the "Select" button.
Is the Crew Fed.?
Is the Crew Paid.?
Does everyone have enough room? No.
Time to Hijack an Extra Boat. (Oh excuse me. "Borrow" another boat.)
Be Certain the flag is not friendly.

This game has so many options and leaves the story very mutable. (Like the Modern Sandbox games.) You can deviate from the main story to do what ever you want.

I love games that can give a person a sense of freedom.
If I wanted... I could talk all day about this game.

Graphics?
I give it a seven.
They are not the best graphics but they get the job done. This game was ment to be read like a book. The words are where a person is supposed to get lost in the details.

Sound?
I give it a seven.
It is not the best sound track. But it ... Read the rest of this Review

"Are You Not Entertained ?"
Glad I found the time to finish Playing this.

The Beat-Em-Up that is better than most that almost No One Knows About.

This Game is a gem from the past that reminds people of the good old days when story was never really needed.
But
This game has one. If you have seen the movies? You know what's going down. You Play for the ending. (Note: This game came out before there was any movie. Years of good Comics too.Check Em Out.)
I am not going to spoil it. Its Just good Clean Fun. The Fate of the World Stuff. Yadda, Yadda, Yadda.

Depth??
This game has all the componets of a beat-em-up. The Differences? The Componets are on Steroids. Each Character is distinct to the extreme, the moves, power moves, special abilities, Equipment, and effects of the moves are overtly done to make every blistering second cool. The mere jump button is epic. The button combination moves are the best and most well thought out of I have seen in a Beat-Em-Up from this generation. Not to mention the Weapons that Litter the Field that you can pick up. Each one is different and has cool animations.

(Witch is the reason I waited till I had a day to fully play, enjoy, and Savour the full experience.)

I Miss Brilliance like this in games.

Even the enemy designs were rewarding instead of grinding. (CapCom Wrote the book on what to do with Aliens, Soldiers, and Technology in a Quarter munching machine.)

Addictiveness???
Higher than a RockStar from the 70's. This Game will get played.

Sound????
It's Capcom. It is always Top Notch. It is one of the reasons we play the games they make.

Graphics?????
Too Cool To Believe possible in a game. It Looks like you are playing a comicbook with Anime Influences. How can that style be done wrong?
Brilliant art and Stunning Use Of Color. Effects in all the right spots. Even if effects are not needed. You still dig em.

Turtles From The Time???
Finally.
After All These Years.
I Finally Completed it.
I Cant Believe I Actually Got To The Shredder Without a Game Genie When I Was A Kid. Never Beat Him Due to that one hit kill gun of his.

First a quick Dose of "Strategy" for any new players.

The action is only good with two of the turtles. Leo and Don...(the Blue one with swords and the purple one with the stick).
The others are just cannon fodder for the swimming section and the "Technodrome" maze. So, Although the game gives you the Idea that you have four characters Two are nearly useless. The two that are practically useless are so due to lack of range with their tools and lack of strength too. Way Uncool for a turtles game. The pause feature that allows you to cycle through your characters is very quick and glitch free but the screen refresh rate is poor. You can take a hit "un-pausing" without seeing it. Not the best way to travel. Your cannon fodder turtles are as good as wasted. The player is better off travelling with Leo the Blue till something needs an extra hit. Switch out with Don the Purple when you need a foe removed. The Power ups are the only thing that can make the two useless turtles regain any advantage. I suggest the boomerangs. The Boomerangs can be Shared or traded with the other turtles. Plus the boomerangs are about as powerful as Don the Purple's Stick.
The Best Power up is the Scroll (Stronger than Dons Stick) that can only be found in level 4 just after the Swimming Level.
Since You already have your "get around" Turtles with Leo and Don, I suggest giving them both all the boomerangs collected and Give Your Two "Cannon Fodder" Turtles The Scrolls and Saving them As Secret Weapons To Face the Technodrome Boss and The Shredder Boss.
The other Item that is essential to progress to Level 5 is the ROPE. that can only be found in a sewer in Level 4 again.
Finally the Torpedoes are another Item that are needed to clear the roa... Read the rest of this Review

What is Dark Link?
In the Zelda Series the character of Dark Link has no story. who or what do you guys think he is?

I have an Idea but I will type that up in another thread in a week.

I want to know what you guys have to say on the subject.

Good Luck To All.
I'm Done. Stick a fork in me.
Peace.

The game that was supposed to be reviewed is a side scrolling space shooter. For the computers of the past. it's very nice for its generation and is very forgetable. It's the first time I have given a review for a game I have not completed yet.
I give it a 5 for its generation and acomplishment.

Soul Calibur II (SC23 Ver. A)
01-09-13 01:11 PM
Oopse I did it again.S.C.2. ReDoo.
A few days back I had a few drinks and popped in Soul Calibur 2 for "X-Box 1" into my "360".
Guess what?
It worked.
I rocked out to it and fell in love with this game again.
I also discovered that the control pad alterations made from X-Box gen 1 to the 360 made the game easier to play. (Again a continuing theme with controls and playability marking a hit or wrecking a great idea.)
Granted I played Part 4 of the series so much that I should be a practical expert by now. But I actually lost a couple of matches in the "Weapons Master" Mode.

The Characters are younger and have more vigor.
The moves in this one are more plenty-full than the latter 4th instalment. Plus they are easier to execute. Granted, The random jump command sneaks in every now and again when you want to perform a reverse strike but that happens so rarely its hardly a bother.

The unlock-able features are a joy to earn, and Play. From Characters to Arsenal, From Stages to endings, This Game Rocks.

The Graphics are somewhat less detailed but full of attractiveness. Why many alterations from this Game to the Fourth Instalment of the series are great you get the feeling that allot of brilliance they covered in this game was wrongfully abandoned.
Same thing goes for the Music and Sound.
The biggest difference Is The MUSIC.
The Music in this game rocked so much, I missed it. It Propels the player and does not distract from playing it (Like the Jazz music in Marvel Versus Capcom 2). It's an Orchestra without the over-dramatics. It fits and keeps a person listening for more. The music is better in this game than Part 4 (Oddly Enough).
This is a "20+hour fighting game" done right.
(Note: I would mention a higher amount of time due to Addictiveness, but a really skilled Fighting gamer could possibly Jam through this in a weak-end and move on to the next challenge. That's the way a fighting game should be. But the thing... Read the rest of this Review
Zelda II Easy

Zelda 2. Watered Down and still Hard.
This is as easy as it gets.
Once again I decided to take on this game. I remember allot though I still had to look up the "Magic Jar" Locations on the web. (Its been years since the eighties. Sue Me.) I was not going to suffer the same way I did when I was a kid. Most of the puzzles are tolerable with Three exceptions. the Hidden town (witch I did suffer through without the internet), the "Magic Jar Side Quest", and the Final Palace where you fight the Thunder Bird and The Shadow. When I was Young I memorized the Final Palace and most of the games Power Up Locations. But I did not remember the curve balls that it throws at a person. The Spells that you cant Learn till certain standards are met are one that sticks out, the hidden town with only one small clue, and the Magic Jar Side Quest. The Magic Key location would be on this list but, but It was a secret that was given away when the game was released anyway. Any 4 to 5 dollar book in a book store had that tip (and those books stayed in stock for ten years). The rest had to be found the old fashioned way and It was a brutal journey. I remember asking kids in the lunch room in school for the magic jars locations and other tips as well. This game took a person about a year to finish with Zero Help (if I remember all the many conversations I had with people who went on the journey before me). Today the things I listed above would be considered too intolerable. I can quickly understand why so many new gamers dislike this game. Be thankful this thing actually gives a person a chance to figure things out and win. Some games had no mercy. "Ninja Gaiden" with its no save or passwords for example. You either did the whole thing in one sitting or you paid another video rental fee and suffered again another day. Any one doubting me cause I used a good game? Check out Ghost-Busters for the N.E.S. and see if you don't imitate the Angry Video Game Nerd when trying to climb the stairs. Back to Zelda 2. I liked this thing f... Read the rest of this Review

Classics are Hard Part Two.
This game is just like "Code name Viper". Only this one was made first.
The sound, Graphics, and Controls are all top notch for its generation. The Differences Between this one and Viper are all superficial. The Major plus to this game is the Story lacks Definition and the Single images that repeat in the levels closing are like ransom demands urging the player to continue. Very Creepy Idea, But Very effective. It Drowns the player into the non-exist-ant plot. The Difficulty and blitzes are very Unrelenting. The in game rules with the life bar are fun but the timer is a pain to get around. It does not give time for figuring out all the patterns that have to be memorized in order to progress. Again its a relic of the "quarter muncher years" of gaming. But the fact that it survived to be found later says something. I dig this game. I recommend it for Mega Man Fans who want a real challenge. This game rocks. But Prepare for frustration breaks. This thing wants quarters that its not going to get. So, be ready to enjoy the save state button. For old School gamers that have a Great Controller to plug in, I recommend this thing for High score enthusiasts. I'm curious to see if there are any of the same 3 letter names From the old arcades I grew up with out there. Sattle up and be prepared this one is hard.
Any how...
Good Luck To All.
That's it. I'm done. Stick a fork in me.

River City Ransom The Prequel
"River City Ransom" In Ancient Japan.
That essentially sums up the experience. The Locations are amazing. The Map is new. The moves are new. The partner "Bot" is great. The music is fun. The Graphics are cool. I cant get enough. It does take a little getting used to the map and the added features to the controls, But the experience is not so painful and unforgiving. The fact you have two alternate endings should be note worthy too. But I'm Getting ahead of myself. This is practically River City Ransom 2 With a Period piece twist added to the experience. Some may not like the changes. I Do. For a few seconds you wonder if you are playing an 8-bit N.E.S. title. Allot of this game seems too advanced for its time. But I have always felt that about River City Ransom in the first place. I give this thing a 9.9 for being overtly ambitious and inventive and giving way more than what the average gamer for this console might expect. All executed wonderfully.
Not many arcade hits port well to the N.E.S. this is an N.E.S. title that will be hard to port well to the arcade due to length and the charm of the N.E.S. console style. I have been thankful to own a N.E.S. due to Mario, Mega Man, and Castlevania alone. Very few Titles get that same tier of value put on them. So, 9.9 it is.
Give "Technos" a thumbs up for this game series alone.
Good Luck To All.
I'm done. Stick a fork in me.

Double Dragon 3 Difficulty Fix
12-05-12 03:08 PM
Double Dragon 3 for N.E.S.
This Game Is Too Hard For Beginners.
The Graphics are typical for its generation and were not improved much from the first instalment of Double Dragon for the N.E.S. More Characters were added but many vanished. You have more Characters to choose from than the first game, but, you have to beat them in a fight first. The weapons are fun to pick up and use but the amount of places you can venture to on foot is limited. Allot of fun from the first game came from the smooth manuvering. With that out of the window completely its easy to see why no one remembers this title. The Music is N.E.S. music that may or may not annoy. The controls are not very smooth. Thankfully "Jump Kicks" are smoothed out enough to completely dominate the entire strategy "if needs be." There are different strengths to the selectable characters to use to gain an advantage but the controls are not very ironed out enough to matter much. Because the controls are an issue, the game is a far cry from its roots in the "Coin-Op" world. The Story is very much like an episode from a Saturday morning cartoon. It adds a little, but not enough to keep a player interested. By the time the player gets to the end (If they survive till the end) The final Boss is So Supped Up the difficulty challenge goes out the window and very few will bother to even consider completing. This one might make a good hack if the hacker can smooth out the control issues.
I recommend this game to hackers who studied "River City Ransom". Or If they just need additions to their "sprite pool".
"Nostalgia Fans" Beware. This game has little to satisfy. Check Out a Copy of the S.N.E.S. "Double Dragon" before getting mixed up in this one.The Jump kick Strategy gets tiresome and boring too quickly to Endure. The Ending?..........I'm Not going to give it away. I suffered a good few years of my child hood with this thing to respect other games that have heroes rescuing damsels in them.

Wizards & Warriors
12-03-12 05:32 PM
"Quarter Munchers"
"Wizards and Warriors".
This Item is a relic from the past through and through. It was made to eat quarters.
When it went to the N.E.S. they gave the player unlimited continues. making the difficulty dramatically less. It was the first game allot of kids completed for the N.E.S.
At First glance you might think its a "Mid-Evil Exterminators" story. Most of the Foes are Bugs, Birds, Bats, Snakes, and other Rodents. Later on (Near the end of the game.) you get the Ghosts, Goblins, Skeletons, and Wizards. The goals are simple. Survive the Onslaught, Bribe the Mercenaries (The men in the rusted suits.), Collect the Keys, Open the Doors to Advance, Defeat the Boss to save the Damsels (All blonds tied up.), Sum-up the score and REPEAT. The "Power Ups" are one of the best features. The limited potions (Brown is Invulnerability, Pink is High Jump, and Blue is Propel.), The unlimited potion, Levitate (Press and hold up), The Feather (Slows fall. Hold up.), The Boots that open chests without keys (Press select.), The wand that stuns (Press select.), The Throwing Boomerang Daggers or Axes, and others add to the fun of enduring the Journey of this game.
The Graphics were very Simple yet attractive.(One or two colors for each "sprite", and only a handful more for the backgrounds.) A very "Less is More" school of thought went into play. Same thing with the music. Though it all worked effectively alluring players (at the time) to invest time and energy.
I recomend this game for "control pad" handy players. Its a nice platform game from the past that can give a person something new to view. (Mario can't be that attractive.)
The challenge is all about Endurance.(Or having allot of quarters for the classically minded.). Marginal Backtracking is required, But it doesn't take a "photographic memory" to enjoy or progress. That's my review and I've had enough.
Peace out.
Code Name - Viper

The Classics are hard.
This wonderful gem has all the hallmarks of a good Capcom game. Good Graphics, good music, and challenge. Too much challenge. Many may skip this title due to the overflowing commonality of 8-bit games sometimes having too much difficulty to make up for the lack of substance. But Capcom does not do such a thing. All of the challenge seems to be tested in all their games. (At least the ones I played, and that's allot.) The rewards are a high score, a twist ending, and a very beautiful piece of music at the credits real in the end.The art work gives up on too much detail at all the right depths and inserts a mini close up shot of the characters faces when they speak like a random "R.P.G." of the time. Only this game is tense action and problem solving skills. You can get tired of the trial and error method real quick.(Remember most people played games for only 30 min to one hour at a time. Back in the day.) Passwords were a blessing, and this game has just that feature built in like many Capcom games. While it's not as memorable as "Ninja Gaiden" it's worth a look. For challenge fans, this one will give you pain to get those three letters in.
I recommend this title to nostalgia fans. "Codename Viper" is a fun weekend challenge.
Peace.
